Complaint Review: JAM Enterprises

JAM Enterprises, as justaboutsavingmoney.com, advertises that its DVRs and set top boxes can replace those from a cable company and save on the rental fees required by cable companies to use their own DVR/set top boxes. The device I received, however, could not function without a cable card, which had to ordered from the cable company. That card, however, did not enable basic recording functions, such as access to the online guide used to create recordings; did not permit manually configured recordings; and incurred a monthly charge from the cable company.

As a result, I requested and received a return authorization and its attendant RMA number and returned the device. Yet repeated phone and email and website-entered requests for reimbursement have all gone unanswered and, of course, no refund was issued.
