With information from a family member I trusted, I ordered two (2) DVR boxes from JAM Enterprises (AKA justaboutsavingmoney) that Jay assured me would work with my Time Warner Cable (TWC).  When neither box worked with the media card, Jay suggested I exchange the cards at TWC.  After the exchanged cards did not work, Jay said sent two different boxes that he said were later models and better boxes.  When these boxes did not work, Jay expressed that TWC was the problem, and that I could just return the boxes for a full refund.  Jay sent shipping labels, and I returned them.

After several days, I called Jay on his "direct line."  Previously, Jay answered my call by my name, so obviously he had my name associated with my number on CallerID.  However, after returning the boxes, there was no answer there or any other number I called.  I also sent emails.  I then made a refund request according to their specific instructions online.  Still no response.  I then called and emailed that I would file a complaint with BBB and Colorado government offices, if I had not heard from someone within the company within 24 hours.  It has now been 4 days, and I am starting the process.  This company may be legitimate in providing cable boxes, but they are not forth-coming or trustworthy in my eyes.  Do not do business with this company.

you can own your own cable box and if the cable company wishes to provide the necessary cards to make it work it will cost $8.00/month. in addition the cable will charge an outlet fee of $10.00/month to attach to their system. don't take my word call your cable company. the only truth is what you are told by them.

these fees are an additional $18.00/month after purchasing a cable box for $250.00. in 36 months that comes to a total approaching $900.00

if you need a box that works go to your cable company.

if you need help, do the following: call the englewwood police at 303 761 7410 and file a complaint. you will be given a report #. request that this complaint is sent to the DA and in turn it will be forwarded to the Attorney General. each dept needs an audit trail.

file a complaint with Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov/defaultaspx. this site is run by the FBI

file a complaint with the BBB in denver. After contacting the Attorney General office i was informed this site is being looked at daily.

In response to "JAM Enterprises www.justaboutsavingmoney.com Promises unkept; deceptive; con-men; refuse to return calls; refuse to refund money, even when promised Englewood Internet", Mack - MESQUITE, Texas. lee Massachusettes from Sept. 4th, 2013:

To start, all cable companies are required to let customers use the type of converters we sell (that take the CableCard). They are rated by the FCC as digital cable ready "plug & play".  These units are also approved by all cable TV companies, whether they want to admit it or not.

I'll start with your cable provider not activating the equipment we sent you.  If they didn't activate your equipment that is on them and not us, you should have filed a complaint with the FCC on your cable company but that's neither here nor there now.  Here is a PDF for the FCC Enforcement Agency explaining what the cable companies can and can't do and where to go to file a complaint: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-11-1373A1.pdf

Secondly, we have started sending in testimonials of legitimate cable subscribers to the Colorado Attorney General so they can verify that our boxes do indeed work.  We would be working with the BBB as well but they require around $1,000 a year for upkeep and we don't feel the need to correct a bunch of "pole climber" complaints from years ago.  Unfortunately a lof of people purchase our boxes expecting to get free programming but our boxes simply don't do that and when they don't the "cable thief" gets very upset when he finds out he voided all his warranties.

Lastly, if you did indeed return your equipment and we haven't refunded you yet then please email us proof of the return and we will look into it (you can email us at cs@justaboutsavingmoney.com).  If we find that you did return your equipment and we haven't sent out your refund yet we will do so immediately.  Even if you are passed your money back guarantee we will still honor our Warranties & Disclaimers.

Sincerely,

JAM Enterprises
