Complaint Review: James Autmotive Services

I went in with a Check Engine Light on with hope the reason would be diagnosed and repaired for a soon due smog. I was told they found the problem. They had the vehicle for a quite a long time I was told  it was quote "a big job" and many many repairs were being made. Afterwards I was told the light would not come on again. I was charged a very large amount of money and Not very much time has gone by  the light has come on again. After having another Automotive Service Shop have a look I find non of the many repaires I was told of by the first mechanic were made.

I learned they may have did nothing more than reset my car's computer causing the light to go off temporarily. It is frustrating to have this happen being a poor single mother of 4 kids struggling to get by. Someone said the owners of the first shop were nice people and they did a lot for the community. I did a short investigation online using the company's name finding violations documented by the state's Bureau of Automotive repair. They have several small claims complaints filed in San Diego Superior Court. Sadly it seems they must be a big RIPOFF in a lot of ways :-(
