This guy is a real scam artist and his favorite is selling fake or counterfeit golf clubs like callaway and other name brands made by chinese counterfeiters. This guy talks a good game and with some research on google his name comes up as an ebay counterfeiter. He sold me a Callaway FTIZ for 165 brand new. Fred Herrmann (eBay user ID fritzherrmann) is either a buyer scamming eBay sellers, or an absolute idiot!  He paid for a golf club in "used" Mint condition (not "NEW" as he says in his complaint!) on 12/28/10, I shipped on 12/29/10, and he received on 12/31/10.  eBay item number 110627712590.  He then left positive feedback on 01/04/11 and then started sending threatening and incoherent emails on 01/12/11 about the club being a fake.  He made numerous threats to "take the club to Callaway to have it checked" but never followed through with this as he couldn't since he knew it wasn't a fake!

He then filed a claim with eBay Resolution Center and they ruled in his favor on 01/18/11.  This is common practice for eBay to almost always rule in the buyer's favor originally.  I didn't receive the item back until 01/27/11.  It arrived back in the same box I shipped in and was in fact the exact club I had sent him, as verified by matching the serial # on the club to the paperwork from the Callaway club rep it was ordered through  (which he was unaware I had in my possession)!  The only difference was that when I shipped it, it was in Mint condition, and when I received it back it had scratches on the top of the head and the shaft, scuff marks on the sole, and a big "skymark" on the crown.  In addition to being a lieing scam artist he must not be much of a golfer either!  Anyway, I appealed to eBay Resolution Center and won the appeal and had my money back in 3 days!

He keeps making references to James Carpenter comming up all over the place for being a scam artist selling counterfeit clubs from China.  My name is spelled Jaymes, not James, and until this report, the only google results about myself and selling golf clubs was a link to my eBay feedbacks, which are all positive!  Even now there are NO references to myself OR my eBay user name comming up as an "eBay counterfeiter" as he claims.  He seems to pull this stuff out of thin air!  I have never sold a counterfeit club in my life, and have the PROOF that I didn't in this case either!  He on the other hand has NO PROOF because he refused to take the club in for authentication, which he claimed in numerous emails would be "no problem".  If it was really a fake why not take it in?  What did he have to lose?  Because he was satisfied with the club upon receit (positive feedback), and only had a problem after using it for 2 weeks and damaging it in the process.  It's not my problem he is such a hack that he can't go 2 weeks without damaging the club by not being able to hit it on face!  Oh wait, I guess it is my problem because here I am wasting even more of my time defending myself for a perfectly legitimate sale that the buyer left positive feedback for!

I would  block this loser from your any auctions you may be involved with on the internet.  He has done the same to others - look-up eBay users 315dfw12 and anythinguneed789.  I have alerted eBay to his tactics and they are looking into how this one member has had the incredible "bad luck" to receive counterfeit golf clubs so often in such a limited number of transactions!  Kind of goes against the odds doesn't it?

Also, if you happen to live, work, or golf in the San Diego area I would avoid this guy, Fred Herrmann.  I would certainly never want to get stuck playing golf with, or especially against this liar, because I'm sure his lack of integrity in his business dealings would most probably carry over into his golf game and he would end up shaving strokes or improving his "lie" when no one was looking!
