JCU has a long standing issue with ongoing corruption in many facets of their operations.

The main issue I would like to talk about today is the fact that the handling and treatment of staff is irresponsible and inadequate.

The corruption in that workplace is blatant and as you can tell from the union reports this corruption is only getting worse, not better.

1) Conditions are poor and expectations on grant holding is exceedingly high compared to the fact that JCU won't even let their university be put in the university rankings.

2) Concerns have been risen about the selection of students for courses. The local media has revealed that special 'scouts' which are paid large sums of money are used by the Deans of faculties

3) Good staff are leaving for better jobs, while student complaints about existing staff are never dealt with or handled according to poorly written policy. (I am unsure if it is even legal!)

4) The Vice Chancellor gets up to $1 million in salary and benefits each year while her counterparts are paid much less.

Students and the education will feel the brunt of this university's actions however if there is no consequences for them then they will keep up with their corrupt conduct.
