I paid Jamie Roxx several hundred dollars to paint a portrait of my baby daughter. The painting was supposed to take 3 weeks to complete. Now, 3 months later, I still have no painting. I have contacted Jamie several times via email and phone. He did return one email, about a month ago, telling me he lost my address & asking for it again. I did send him my address, but still I have no painting. My other emails & phone calls have been ignored.

One reason that Jamie was able to scam me is because he did not run the payment through HIS paypal account, but through his assistant/girlfriend's paypal account. After he spoke to me about the painting, he said that he was putting his assistant, Elizabeth Gaylord (aka Liz Gaylord, Liz Gay) on the phone to take the payment. She took my credit card number & charged me $200, via paypal. I have since spoken to her & she informed me that they have broken up & that Jamie got the $200 -- NOT HER -- and expressed regret for letting Jamie use her paypal account. Paypal did investigate, and found in my favor, but stated that they were unable to collect any money at this time.

DO NOT LET JAMIE ROXX SCAM YOU TOO!!!!!! DO NOT PAY HIM ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE YOUR PAINTING IN HAND!

Growing up in New Baltimore is rough

The streets of New Baltimore in the 80's can change a man. Sometimes you would have to wait in line at the Dairy Queen or lock your bike at school. That really can mess up a guy like Dirk.

I used to work for Jamie Roxx

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

I am a former employee of Jamie Roxx. Jamie can be strange at times, but he was a good boss and a great artist. Yes he sometimes was a little odd (He would make us wash the bathroom with bleach twice a day. I think he had something about germs). He does so much charity work and raises so much money for the charities. And he does so much good for people. He was always so nice to everyone. I remember him buying groceries for one woman who worked part time for him who could not afford them that month.
People used to annoy him sometimes. We were always getting unknown artists coming into the galleries trying to get Jamie to sell their paintings even if they were bad paintings. Jamie hated having to tell them no, but this would happen several times a week.
Also people would lie and say at clubs and parties that they were with Jamie just to get into the clubs.
People would also always try to get free paintings from Jamie and that would hurt his feelings and make him mad.
Everyone always wanted a piece of Jamie.
I was sad when Jamie sold his gallery.  The new owner turned it into an antique store and let all of us "Art people" go with no notice. I was so mad at Jamie. I finally got a hold of him and he was sad about it.  I understand why he wanted to close the gallery there really were just too many people coming in there just to hang out with him, but I told him what the new owner had done. That's when he pulled all of his paintings out of there.
He said he wouldn't help people who were using his name like that. He then called a friend of his who owned a clothing store and got me a job in Hillcrest (were I still work today).
So when I read the stuff on here I am mad because Jamie is a great man and a super artist. They will be talking about Jamie forever. He always used to say that people either love him or hate him. But I think the ones that hate him are just jealous.

I paid for a painting from Jamie Roxx (now known as Sissy Pesticide) in November of 2009 and here it is June of 2010 and I still do not have it in my hands.  I was told 3 times that it was in the mail.  It became a joke around my house, after spending two days sitting at home waiting for a package from UPS that never happened.  I confronted SP and the communication stopped back in February.  I will never suggest his art to anyone and the only painting I do have from him is coming off my wall so that people stop asking where they can get one.  Seeing it just makes me mad.

Jamie Roxx was never paid for this order

I'm sorry you went through this. However Jamie was never paid on this. I think your beef should be with Elizabeth.
Jamie and I have tried to contact you several times, to resolve this, as the portrait was painted and finished. However Jamie was never paid on this.
btw Jamie Roxx portraits average around $1000.00 per painting.
Your special of $200.00 will be honored if there is a record that you can show that you paid Elizabeth.
That's all we can do. We look forward to working with you on this.
~Mary
