Our designer wrote a check to Jan De Luz for $25,000 to pay for a pair of fireplaces. Mr. De Luz was unable to procure the fireplaces within our budget ($50,000.) No problem. Return the money and we'll go elsewhere. However, for some reason that not even he can articulate, he kept our money. No store credit. Nothing. Now, I'm suing to get the money back and he's making it expensive (forcing us to come up with French-language translators, etc..) It's senseless. We'd take cash. We'd take full store credit.
