I took my car to this dealer because my security light wouldcome on while I was driving. It had started doing this when I installed a anti theft lock on my steering column.

I was quoted a price of 272.00 dollars to fix the problem. But when I went to pick up my car the repair cost me 472.90.The service advisor had told me I had no choice but to have the work done because my anti theft module needed to be replaced.

I paid the bill, but the next day after I reinstalled the theft lock the ligt came back on.I called the dealership to report this and to complain about the billing process.

He pretty much in a roundabout way that I was lying. He stated therewas no way his man would have run up a bill like that without letting me know what was going on. Anyway I took my car back again, they checked it out.

This time I was told they reprogammmed my car keys and everything should be alright. It was not because after reinstalling the lock the lightcame back on.

By now I am totally frustrated I called them back to take the car back the next day. But I started to think that it was ironic that the minute I put my column lock on the light came on.

So I park my car took the column lock off and the light went out,put it back on the light came on. It then dawned on me that the lock had been my problem all along.

Even the mechanic said it could be the problem because it blocks the radio wave coming from the anti theft module. In other words I paid 472.90+tax to have my theft colloar remove, because it is obvious there was nothing wrong with my old anti theft module because my car started fine even before I took it in for service. They are lying and they know it!

#4Consumer Suggestion

Jimmie Most car dealers across the country want to get as much money out of each and every car buyer they can. They want only one thing, YOUR MONEY. You must remember their gain, is your pain!

I would like to ask you check out this list of web sites. I would like you to return to your Rip Off Report and post an update as to what you FEEL these web sites really do for car dealers.

Some trainers in the industry tell the sales people "Hey make the car buyer FEEL REAL good." "Make them think that YOU really like them." In my eyes, it is all emotional BS that they want to PUMP into the car Buyer's head.

I would love for you to post an update as to what you feel or think the above list of web sites do for car dealers.

I have done business several times for my Pontiac at Ganley Pontiac/Honda in North Olmsted. It's a little bit further for you, but they have always been very helpful. They also have a 12 month/12k mile warranty on all work. Hope this helps.

A somewhat fair settlement

On Mar.11,2003 I reached a settlement with this dealership for nearly 200.00 dollars. Even though I am not totally satisfied because they still insist they did no wrong,I don't have time to squabble with them over this. But the money I was cheated out of will cost them much more in the future. I will now drive to a dealership across town who have a much better reputationand probably won't call their customers liars.
