Jbc Legal Services BIG BAD CHECK SCAM WITH AMES DEPARTMENT STORE ripoff Bloomfield New Jersey
I found out that JBC Legal Services had a $104.00 bill that they posted to credit bureaus. According to them I write a bad check to Ames department Store, in December 1999. They just posted this to my credit last year (5 years later). They will not give me a copy of a the check, they said they do not have it. They also said that the $104.00 that is now $250.00 and I will be taken to court for writing bad checks.
I called my credit Union and they told me the check went through and are sending me a copy. How can these people do this kind of thing. Aren't there laws to protect the consumer?? I'd like to take these crooks to court. Wrong is wrong!! I should sue them for putting erroneous crap on my credit report.

My situation with Ames and these JBC Crooks is that I did write a check to Ames for $69.17. I went to my bank who told me that Ames deducted that amount automatically from my checking (ACH transaction). I had spoke to someone from JBC who told me to send the information in from my bank or I would go to jail and face heavy fines. I sent the information the first time and the same person from JBC said they threw the info I sent them in the trash. I sen another copy (registered mail) along with the threat of taking them to court and it was then that they told the credit bureau to remove that from my credit report. Now the fight is on with the credit bureaus because they have this account marked as a past due (but paid) that still reflects negitively on my report. I can bet you that from here on out I will check my credit report annually.

Excellent work, Darla! Now go back through, find every time that you were denied credit or given a higher interest rate as a result of this fraud, and take these bastards to court.

Just to let you all know that the checks that JBC tried to say were written to AMES DEPT STORE back in 1998, I disputed in writing to JBC, they never got back to me. I called them and they said I had to get something from my bank showing I didn't owe these checks, but JBC wouldn't provide me with anything. My bank of course didn't have any proof because the checks never were written. I pulled a credit report off the internet and of course JBC was on there. I disputed it and of course JBC cannot provide proof of the debt therefore it was removed. I suggest you all do the same.
