My issue began in 2007, however, I didn't realize it until this past weekend. (No need for scolding-I've already chastised myself.)

My husband handles this credit card account and didn't realize what was happening. When we found out we called the Fun Family Rewards phone number at 888-527-6839. They were closed for the weekend.

This morning I called and spoke with a pleasant young man, Lance (I believe he said his name was). I explained to him that I had not signed up for any rewards program and I wanted to get my money back.
He told me he could give me back 6 mos worth of my money, that was the best he could do. I explained to him that it had been over 12 months of charges on something I had NOT requested.

I let him know that I was already disputing the charges with my credit card company and had printed out the form for filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Office and I was calling my attorney too.

He asked me to hold and spoke with his supervisor. He came back on the line and said he could give me 12 months refund. I agreed to that, but told him I still wanted to get the rest of my money back. I asked him to let his supervisor know that I am prepared to file suit if necessary to recoup my funds. He put me on hold and then a girl, "Amber", picked up.

She proceeded to tell me that I had signed up for the program, they had sent materials to my house, and I had received a ten dollar rebate. I told her I had NOT signed up for the program, had not received anything, and did not receive a rebate.

I checked JC Penney online for my purchase records and it showed no rebate during the purchase.

Amber was sarcastic and venomous during her conversation with me. She further told me that I needed to watch my account more closely. I told her she was right. They conned me once, it would never happen again.

She said, "it's not a con". I informed her of all the complaints I read online. She told me that they were all false. I let her know that that many complaints are definitely NOT false. I let her know we were finished and she with much bitterness in her voice said, "You have a very Merry Christmas, MS. ...

I responded in kind and hung up. I'd like to say I was extremely friendly while she bashed me and spoke so rudely, but I wasn't. I think I must have sounded just like her...

I am going ahead with my complaint to the Texas Attorney General's Office.

Even if they refund my money (which remains to be seen), I think that the AG's Office needs to be aware of the number of complaints this company is generating.

Every one complaining her can't be wrong. My belief is that enough people complain, then something will be done.
