JC Penney Portrait Studio ripoff to consumers
In June of this year (2001), while completing a US Navy tour of duty in Virginia, we had a portrait sitting of our then 6-month old son.
I ordered a 16X20 reprint of me holding up our son in his baby dedication outfit. It took them 2 months to get it ordered and to me, after they promised it to be in the store in 2 weeks.
What's worse, I ordered another 16X20 reprint, this time of our son in the angel baby/wings print taken at the same time. Lo and behold, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT!
I originally made the reprint request 8/13/01, knowing I would receive it in 2 weeks (as promised again) before my husband goes out to sea and we relocate to the west coast.
After several long-distance phone calls, and THREE times reordering the print from 8/01 - 10/01, I am STILL awaiting the print. They refuse to ship it at their expense when it does come in, but at this point I am not holding my breath as I still haven't received word that it has arrived to their store yet to date (11/30/01).
I will never do business again with JCPenney's Portrait Studios, and I am very angry with them.

Portrait Studio is Contracted Department

The Portrait Studio is part of the Service Corridor. Optical Department and Portrait are not owned by JCP. They are vendors. They rent Space. However you can use your JCP credit card to pay for their service. The contracted provider here for Portrait Studio is a company called Lifetouch. They are independant and are each responsible for even their own hours of operation within the store they are located at. The employees are not JCP associates either. To resolve your problem, you need to find out who the vendor is at that store. The JCP store manager will know this and usually the store operator has the information handy. Sometimes the Studio doesn't answer the phone because they are taking pictures of someone's kid. They often have an answering machine to pick up calls while they are doing a shoot. hope this helps!
