In Feb 2002 I ordered a livingroom all leather couch, loveseat, and chair w/ottoman. In March I took delivery. The chair and ottoman base was suppose to be of a dark red/brown stain. What was delivered was a blonde color bases on each peace.

May I received a call from JC Penny's customer "No" service that the replacement was ready to be delivered. The replacement was attempted to be delivered but I did not accept the delivery as it was the same exact color of wood that was already sitting in my livingroom.

The end of June I received a call telling me that they would like to set up the delivery of the chair and ottoman. On 7-5-02 I noticed what I thought a huge piece of lint on the base of the ottoman. I bent down to pick up the "piece of lint" and found out that it was not a piece of lint but that some of the paint was scrapped off.

I immediately called JC Penny's customer "no" service and complained beyond what space here that I have to write. I was told that they painted the bases so I wouldn't have to wait for the item any longer that you needed to. I was assured that the stained wood was on it's way to their warehouse.

The following week I spoke to Paul Douglas, the furniture department manager and complained again. He told me that he told them to do this.

Within 2 days of that conversation I received a call from the custome "no" service department informing me that the store manager was going to personally deliver the ordered merchandise and wanted to set up a day and that a 20% of the price of the chair & ottoman would be in compensation for my troubles. I told them that the delivery had to be on a Saturday as I worked during the week and that I thought that 50% was more like a compensation that 20%.

Today, 7-12-02, they tell me that they are unable to obtain the merchandeise that I had ordered as the manufacturer wasn't making it anymore.

JC Penny is unable to deliver the furniture that I ordered. This issue has been going on now for over 6 months. Everytime I speak to them they come up with a different story.
