I purchased to pairs of gold earrings, and was told that if I went back the next day, thy would be on sale. The sticker price would total over $300 but with the "great" sale I could get both pairs for $86. The sales rep offered to set them aside for me.

Something seemed weird but I said I would come back.  I went back the next day and a different sales rep told me the sale "actually" started the following day but she could "Pre-ring" the sale so I wouldn't have to come back.  I took them home but really couldn't believe I could get such a deal.

I took both pair to a real, certified jeweler with a Precious Metals License t have them appraised. He verified them, while they are gold, the weight of both pairs was less than .06 of a GRAM. They are hollow inside and the value of the gold is about $6.00. He advised me to give them to a little girl or sell them at a flea market!

Without knowing where I got them, he looked at the stickers and said that department stores do that all the time, have fake sales, fake attempts to get you back in, and the mark-up is immoral and should be illegal. He also remarked "JC Penny's is the worst"!

An $86 sale is worth $6 to the buyer. Don't be fooled and don't waste your money there!
