I would give these rip off artists negative stars if i could! I would tell even my worst enemy to not go here! No matter how desperately you need a car. These people not only sell cars that they know have multiple defects. They dont even file paperwork as mandated by federal law. I bought a 2007 Jeep Compass from Jeremi Benson and Christian Dietrich at the Ashtabula Ohio JD Byrider. Not even two weeks in this thing had multiple problems. The Steering Box was making horrible grinding sounds when turning but, the transmission whil driving made sounds that no transmission should make. The clutch plate was also extremely bad and almost impossible to shift. I looked through all my paper work and looked up lemon laws on the Internet. During this process I noticed that they did not ony file the Incorrect Buyers Guide but, the one I was given was not even filled out to the letter of the Law! The buyers guide link is listed below and must be filled out in entirety as shown.

The buyers guide I was given didn't even come close to matchin but, there was no second side where they are supposed to put their name, address and person to contact in case of any problems with the vehicle. I contacted them and told them since that paper work was not filed properly and by consumer law that they were legally bound to let me out of the deal and return my downpayment. Instead all they did was harass me by phone, email and then they came and took the car. They are still refusing to return my down payment money and I am fed up with these people. I contacted an attorney and want to get these peopel shut down. The entire JD Byrider chain has continued cases like this and some even worse than mine! They need to be shut down! PERIOD!

jd Byrider settled a multi million dollar lawsuit with the Ohio attorney generals office in 2005 for unfair and deceptive trade practices. The attorney general had jd Byrider not only pay present restitution, but also put aside money for future complaints. First, if you haven't done so, go to the BBB website and file a complaint, and file a complaint with the Ohio attorney general. There are special circumstances if you are disabled, a veteran, elderly, etc. Look at ohios unfair and deceptive trade practices law. If the cars on the lot don't have price tags in the windows, that is considered a deceptive Trade practice. Any car sold with a warranty is not considered "as in," because under the law a warranty serves as a promise that is anything IS wrong, the company will fix it. Also see if your car insurance rate skyrocketed. Cnac has a history of using car insurance to insure the entire loan, not the replacement value of the vehicle if it is totaled. For instance, if the blue book is $4,000, but cnac believes you owe them $14,000, if you total the car, your insurance will only cover the value of the car. Unless you buy additional gap insurance, and that is not legal. It also isn't legal to finance in the manner cnac does. They do piggy back lending. It is illegal in Ohio nd under federal law to finance multiple aspects of the car purchase under one loan. It is illegal to finance the down payment, warranty, closing costs, the car, and title transfer fees in one loan with one interest rate. The interest rate of say 22% may be legal to charge on a vehicle, but illegal to charge for a warranty. Cnac has lost a massive number of class action lawsuits all over the us. Google "cnac lawsuits," "jd Byrider class action," etc. They always lose in court if you file properly and raise the right issues and have evidence. But look at ohioa unfair and deceptive trade practices act, and the financing laws in Ohio. The attorney general in Ohio is encouraging individuals to sue, as do several municipal judges. File under udtpa and contract law, with damages if they fail to fix the issu civil. It is also illegal to price gouge in Ohio, and federal and state law prohibit companies from financing vehicles for more than 200% of their blue book value. It is also illegal to harass and threaten consumers for payment. That is a tort claim.

Quite frankly, you haven't a clue of what you're talking about.  The "Lemon Law" has nothing to do with a used car.  The inadvertent omission of the dealer's name DOES NOT require said dealer to unwind the deal.  "Improperly filling out" this disclosure sheet is only a serious matter if the dealer fails to disclose "AS IS"!  You were properly repo'ed for YOUR FAILURE to make payments...end of story.
