My mother submitted a loan for a car. there was one car dealer who called her for one. That company would not give her a car because of her income. s she's on a fixed income and need to have a income of at least $1000 a month.A couple days later jd byryder call told her she can get a car this was8/31/07.she goes get the cargives them 200$ toward her downpayment.down payment was 500$ that leaves her with a balance of 3oo$.they called 4 days later saying she was suppose to pay the remainder on the 5th of september. the impression she got was she would have to pay that in october along with her first car payment not 4 daays later.being that she is on s fixed income of 800$monthly i dont beleive she should hav gotten the car.but she got it. when she said she wouldnt hav it until october fifth 2007 .the manager told her they could not wait that long and that thay would be reposseing the car.he also said thtahe could voluntarily bring it to them and they would giv her some kind of release that wouldnt hold her responsible.but she ll be out of car and 200 bucks. its not fair to her and she s really upset by that .they are really doing bad business.there going pay for this i promise they pretty much took advantage of my mother.and i am absolutely furious. im consulting with an attorney on her be half. THEY GONE STOP THIS B.S. ITS NOT RIGHT!

Read your closing documents! They contain lots of useful information such as when your payments are due.

Get A Lawyer

Disregard previous responses that tell you not to get a lawyer. I'm a lawyer myself, and anytime ANYONE tries to change the terms of an agreement after the fact, seek legal advice. If they've done nothing wrong, then the truth will come out but if they have tried to cheat you or someone you love, then they should be held accountable. DO NOT let this go. This advice applies to everyone who feels that they have been a victim of this particular company. They will try to ignore you, but they can't ignore a lawsuit.

In terms of cost, there are a lot of attorneys who handle these types of consumer cases pro bono (for free), so just ask around. Either way, never let the cost of legal advice stop you from protecting your rights. In many cases, the losing party will have to pay your legal fees anyway, so your out-of-pocket expense will be zero.

Attorney???

So instead of listening and learning a lesson you decide to hire an attorney? An attorney's retainer is probably at least $1500.00. Come on... grow up and move on! If you care that much about your mothers situation why don't you co-sign for a car at a "New Car" dealership?

I think that it's funny that you feel she got used. I am sure that your mom is of sound mind and body right? I mean come on, she knew what she was getting into and she knew what she was signing. They go over the paperwork with you and if you don't pay attention or you don't care b.c you just want to drive away in your vehicle, who's fault is that?
