My husband purchased a vehicle from JD Byrider 4 years ago.

Yes we realize what the company is as far as inflated prices, older cars and high interest .

That is not our complaint. Our complaint is the tactics used to deceive people.

The remaining balance on the vehicle was 1246.00, an arrangement was made to pay 400.00 for 3 weeks to payoff the vehicle. Final week of course was 446.00. My husband apparently skipped a payment in May, thus making him late. We all agreed because of the low balance for these arrangements.

Payment was made this Saturday, car was repoed on the following Sunday.

I call JD Byrider/CNAC and got apologies for the vehicle getting repoed, "we are sorry I left messages for the car to be taken off the list" "it will be taken care of, you will get the car back"

After a few hours of phone tag, and conversations where I felt I lost intelligence listening to them

It was I need to speak to Ms. Kellerman, I call Ms. Kellerman, she says I need to speak with a manager. Manager says I need to speak with corporate.

Regardless of a payment being missed that was not even brought up until December, we all entered into another agreement. We paid the agreed upon amount, they accepted the money and still took the car.

Like I said before, this account with them is 4 years old, payments being made regularly, not breaking any kind of contract with this company. Every other month he has had a different accounts manager, the turnover at this particular store is astounding.

Here is a fun little sidenote, I posted links to this website ripoffreports.com to their facebook page. We were advised that we cannot pick up the car, it was being taken to either Columbia or Charleston SC because of a complaint. I asked what the complaint was, and was informed of their facebook page.

So now the balance is 848.00 for the car, plus 650.00 in repossession fees.

I was advised also of transport fees to SC we will have to incur.

I might add we live in Atlanta Georgia now.

I asked why are you taking it to SC? "we want to make sure you have a safe car to drive"

I answered" are you sure its not because of the posts I put on your facebook page?"

I got an unintelligible answer, talking in circles etc. I took a couple of Tylenol after that conversation, as my brain hurt from trying to make any sense out of it.

He should have answered " yeah we screwed up, we illegally took the car, and now we are pissed because you posted that on facebook. We are also going to charge you more money because we can." Please take time off work and drive to SC and pay additional fees. We know we cant sell that car at auction for what we want you to pay."

So JD Byrider, I have filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, not that you belong to that. And your rating is an F.
I also filed a complaint with consumer affairs.

I also made my own facebook page, filled with links to this site that you cannot remove.

We will be seeing you soon, but not for what you think.

Had a great phone call today from Stick :) I know the great reputation of ripoffreport.com, but to get a personal phone call from Stick was great. He let me know he was working on the case and the people here actually care about consumers.

In the bad week we have had, to hear a voice that actually cares about us consumers made it better. Whatever the outcome of this, at least we know someone was listening and tried. But JD Byrider, listen, Im not going away, I will put all my spare time and effort to let everyone know how you treat paying customers. You have made our lives and not to mention our holidays miserable. I still cannot fathom how you can sleep at night doing this to people.

I will make tumblrs, websites facebook pages, facebook groups, banners I will buy add space on websites, banner exchanges and anything else i can think of. Because what you did was wrong, period, point blank wrong. Not to mention borderline illegal.

People who buy from your company are having a hard enough time as it is. Outright bad credit, speedbumps in their credit, or are just plain financially challenged. These people work hard pay their bills, and guess what? you try and squeeze more d**n money out of them.

You cannot say anything to justify your actions, what you can do it make this right plain and simple. To Jeff at JD Byrider 843-614-5999, you want to talk to me like a jerk? Condescending tones, talking in circles, outright lying? I WILL show what a jerk of a company you are. I will not go away I promise you that.

UPDATE NOT REBUTTAL

For some reason Im not able to add or update to reply to you Stick.  The car as far as I know is sitting at the tow yard, the company they hired to repo it.  Nightstalkers out of Conyers Ga, they are third party and have been very pleasent so far.
To get my belongings out of the car is 75.00

I have been told by Brandy at JD Byrider in Columbia 3815 West Beltline Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29204 Phone:(803) 748-9331 which is the sister store to the one where the car was purchased.

That the car will be taken to either Columbia (her store) or to Charleston where the car was purchased. No legitimate reason given. I was told by James (current account manager) that corporate (Brandy) wanted the car taken to SC because of a "complaint" , the complaint being  links to this site ripoffreport.com and another consumer site on Facebook.

The 650.00 is for repossession fees, additional fees will be added for transport of the car from Georgia to Columbia SC. No one knows what they will be yet.

Bottom line, shady , deceptive, lies, and at this point my husband doesnt want to give them any more money as  he dont believe a d**n word that comes out of any ones mouth in that company.

This will be a repo on his credit, which will be damaged, and costing us more money as we have to rent a vehicle. We live in the country so no public transportation.

JD Byrider thanks so much for doing this around Christmas time too.

Guess someone got a fat bonus for doing this.

You should do the right thing and return the car,  but I doubt that will happen.

My name is stick and after reading this ripoff report I have several questions that need to be answered. The dealership says he had to ship the car it to another location and then the customer might have to pay $650 transportation fee To get the car back ?

Does this dealership have multiple franchise locations with JD BYrider Or did he just hide the car and to  charge the car buyer and extra $650 to get the car back.  If he doesn't own more than one franchise why would he be shipping it to another location that he doesn't own?  I called and asked to speak to Jeff at 843-614-5999. And I found his personality to be extremely rude when I was trying to help resolve the issue

So I'm in contact with corporate back in Indiana and I'm going to help them get to the bottom of this issue  If the customer made their payment and the dealership and the customer had an agreement why Did they repo the car?  And then after they repo the car they apologize to the customer,  why did the customer not get the car back?

I still don't understand where the car is. Why did the dealership move the car to another location that they probably don't even own?  That doesn't make any sense to me at all.  I feel the car was hidden until they could  get extra money out of the customer.  That's what I feel happened but I'm in touch With the corporate office back in Indiana and I'm going to help them get to the bottom of this issue.

Something just doesn't add up in this ripoff report something is missing something is not being told. Where is their commitment to customer satisfaction? I would like to read the policy that JD Byrider has that states their commitment to customer satisfaction I personally feel it needs to be redeveloped.

No matter what I'm going to get to the bottom of this particular ripoff report and find out what really happened. It seems that Jeff who runs the store that location doesn't want to talk about it.  Walking away from a problem does not solve it, it doesn't show a commitment to customer satisfaction in any way shape or form.

Franchise Development is not built with actions such as this and I am VERY SURE that Mike Pearce would agree with me.

I know for fact that JD Byrider Trys to help people who have speed-bump's in their credit history or have limited amounts of income to be able to buy a car. I appreciate that they do that.

Consumers can post on all kinds of websites out there rating businesses but none of those websites have anybody that calls businesses and tries to resolve issues for consumers.  Rip off report.com tries to make things better for everybody involved in any kind of business transaction building trust building integrity means so much in today's world.

Footnote to Jeff. Are you willing to tell everybody why you transported that car to another location? Did you sell the car to another franchise of JD Byrider? Do you ownmore than one franchise yourself?

This note is to the person that posted this Rip Off Report.  I'm going home I can help get to the bottom of this issue.  Something doesn't seem right.
