First off I bought a kia from these people 8 months ago, the 4 wheel drive has never worked, the engine light stays on, I have in just the last 6 weeks put $1000 into it, the tps sensor, timing belt, and some hose by the mass air flow sensor was replaced, both rear cylinders replaced, and 1 wheel bearing replaced. With that said, the original problem, no/very little power (gas)engine stalling (in the center of intersections, & pulling away from stops, etc.)is still not fixed. I called jd byrider since I had purchased a "warranty" from them and told them that I had just rolled my car home literally, and it is still under warranty, could I have it towed in, and they procede to tell me that the next available appointment was two weeks from then HMMM!! never heard of such a thing, ok, I tell them that I believe at that point that the mass air flow sensor was the problem, is it covered? HMM!! imagine that it is not. I Tow it to my shop where they fix what they can, they are stumped on the whole no power thing, they tell me to take it to a kia dealer-they (kia) lied as well and tried to get another $700 out of me, I took it back to my shop (honest people) and they tell me that the kia folks were dishonest and saw me coming and tried to squeeze $700 out of me, ok, with that said, they told me to go to another kia dealer 'cause they are stumped with the problem-I drive 11/2 miles towards home this afternoon with my kia, and now I cannot steer it-back to my shop I went, the guy drove it for the second time in 20 minutes, put it up on the lift and he calls me to the back he said "I want to show you something" I took one look underneath and about fell over, the entire vehicle is rusting away-surface rust everywhere and the steering problem comes from the lines rusted and corroded so bad now that needs to be fixed before I can get it to the new kia dealer to find out what the original problem of no power/no go is. These idiots call me at work and at home wanting their payment on the day payment is due before I even get my check, also, when I went to look at the vehicles they had in their lot, I told them which ones I wnted to test drive and when I said I wanted to test drive the caravan he gave me keys to the voyager I said no caravan he said voyager is the same I said no I'll just go with the kia, after 9 HOURS in their building I signed the papers-big mistake MY goal is to steer people away from these dishonest folks. For now, I do not know who to contact first-The atty general or an attorney, I want this vehicle replaced, if not it will rust completly away-I am in need of advice in a hurry.

Return the Car!

Stephanie, obviously the vehicle is a lemon-though not covered by the lemon law. They know they sold you a lemon but they do not want to take responsibility for it. Here is what I would do: file a complaint with the Atty. General of IN. Provide as much detail as you regarding the numerous repairs/receipts/etc. from day 1. Return the vehicle to JD Byrider on the grounds that they sold you a lemon. They will have to respond to the Atty. General complaint. They broke their advertising promise to you: "an affordable payment, a reliable car, backed by a solid warranty." Doesn't sound like your experience at all.

When you stop paying for it they will threaten to sue you, garnish your wages, etc. Just tell them you do not wish to be contacted by phone anymore-you do have that right. If you can afford one, hire an atty. to sue them for damages-repairs, loss of income, etc. When they review the file and discover all of the repair issues, rust, etc. they will probably decide to drop pursuing you for any difficiency balance on the loan. You purchased from their "Flagship" store. They probably monitor dissatified customers closely from that store. Just keep documenting your case and be persistant. Unfortunately you got burned but you learned a valuable lesson to stay away from this company. Hopefully others can learn the same from you.

Good Luck!
