I bought a Vehicle from jd byrider about 4 yrs ago, had numerous problems with it had it in the shop at least 2 dozen times and finally found someone to pay it off on a trade in. So now i'm driving past there again 4 yrs later and i see this kia sportage out front and i stop and ask how much they want for it and they couldn't tell me a price on the vehicle until i filled out the loan papers it was a 1999 and i wanted to trade in my 1991 probe gt that had just been re-painted and it looked great, they filled out all the paperwork and they had on there 500 dollar trade in allowance for my probe, thats bs, book

value is 2500, so they told me the car was 8000 dollars which is high, but my wife has been wanting one of these for awhile so i went and got 500 cash instead of the trade in and did it that way, I had pointed out the problems that i had with my last purchase from them and they said they have better cars and people now don't worry, so i buy the car and drive off, the spare tires flies off the back door, i noticed a chip in the windshield, no belt on the ac under the hood, i told them about these problems and they said they would fix them,

then i drive away again and i go out to eat with my 2 small children and the car won't start, the battery is fine, just won't start, so i call the 800 service # which they tell me if anything happens to call anytime anywhere and the # said (we are closed) so i'm stuck here with no ride with 2 kids in 20 degree weather, so i try to start it again and give up, i get out to close the door and it won't close lol...!!!!

So now the car is sitting in the parking lot of the resturaunt and i'm at home, if they want it they can go fetch it, i called and left a message on their emergency service # and it's not like i have good credit now anyways or i wouldn't be going to them, so just save your money and go buy a car or be ripped off because by the looks of all the reports on here about JD byrider The states or consumer agencies aren't going to do anything about the problems or we all wouldn't be writing these, later

I, also, can't believe you (Brian) would go back to these crooks and buy another car. Don't let your credit dictate who you buy from or what you buy. Live within your means. I've been down this road and know how it feels to get ripped-off. Good luck with the future.

I was reading your report and am somewhat puzzled!

You had a bad experience once so WHY did you got back again???

Did you bother to check the car out BEFORE you bought it, especially knowing full-well you had problems with them before?

The spare falling off...easily seen upon check out!

W/S chip...easily seen in advance.

A/C Belt gone...easily seen during check out and you should have checked for A/C operation during test drive.

Understand, I'm not defending them but we as consumers have the responsibility to check out the car in advance! Its the right thing to do!
