I am the co-signer on a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme Int'l, bought at JDByrider in Louisville, in 2003. She paid (after taxes, interest & 12 month "guarantee") a little over $10,000.00, with payments of $90.00 a week.

She has had the car for 2 years and 3 months, and has had to pay over $2500.00 in repairs in the past 2 years, beginning 3 weeks after she bought it. In the first 6 months, it spent more time in the repair shop than on the road.

If my daughter was just 2 days late with her payment, CNAC was calling, wanting their money immediately, or the car would be repo'd. My daughter changed jobs last year. She was getting paid on Fridays, and made her car payment on Friday also.

When she changed jobs, her payday changed from Fridays to Mondays, thus she made her car payments on Mondays. Every Tuesday, CNAC would call me, saying I had until 6:00 that day to make the payment (since I am the co-signer). And every Tuesday, I would have to explain AGAIN to check their records, the payment had already been made! This went on for 6 months; every week!

Today, Brandy from CNAC called me at work, saying I had until 6:00 pm today to come in with $252.00, because two of my daughters checks had bounced. I told her I didn't have that kind of money. She told me that either me or my daughter needed to be there by 6:00, or the car would be repo'd. I told her I got paid on Monday and would take care of it then. Again, she demanded the money TODAY! I borrowed the money from a friend.

These are just a couple of examples of how JDByrider and CNAC operate. They pray on people with little or bad credit, sell them junk cars, and then harrass them for the payments if they are just a couple of days late with their payment.

I have heard that the Kentucky Attorney General is looking into their unethical business practices, and if there is going to be a Class Action Lawsuit (I've heard rumors of one), we would like to get in on it. Please let us know something.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of customers just like you and your daughter who have been taken advantage of by JD Byrider and CNAC. It is important that you keep records and document every negative experience that you have with them. It will be helpful in the future if there is a class action lawsuit against them. In the meantime, you might want to call the Atty. General's office in KY and see if you can be added to the current complaint. The ph. is
502-696-5300, Cathy Lowe is the contact person. Good Luck.
