My mother-in-law ordered some bras from JD Marvel and paid by cheque. The cheque was cashed within 3 days but three months later, there were still no bras.

A search for the phone number came up with a number in Point Claire, Quebec. A phone call got the answer that they would be shipped in "4 to 6 weeks". A phone call a month later got the same response so I told them to cancel the order and send a refund. I was told the refund would be sent at the endd of February.

By mid-March nothing had arrived. I called again and was told the refund would be mailed at the end of March.

I contacted "Phone Busters" a joint fraud task force of the FBI, RCMP and Onario Provincial Police. They suggested one more call to JD Marvel.

I called the company again and informed them that failure to process the cheque immediately would lead to a formal complaint with Phone Busters.

My mother-in-law received her cheque within 48 hours but the whole process took over four months and a lot of persistance.
