we bought a 1997 dodge caravan a year ago and we thought we have been rip off.the van was valued at 4,500 back then and the time they got the loan done it was almost 9,000 dollars. plus the warrenty is only good for another thousand miles and we still have two years on it we still have 5,900 owed on it.and we cant trade it because the car dealership cant trade for anything that had more owed on it than what it retailed price is.do you have any idea if we have been rip off and if so what can be done about it.

van at the time of purchase was 89,178 miles. it now has 111,741 on it.and the warrent is up at 113,178 miles. most dealerships give you a warrenty for the length of the loan. and jdbyrider only gave us a two year/24,ooo miles warrenty.we went to trade it and it is only worht 2,075. now retail value is 1575 after mileage deduction.

we had a trade on the van which they got rid of very quiclkly and they also say that they cant sell the van for us and it is still in the same shape as when we bought it.we want to giveit back but we cand do to that cause they will sue us.

please let us know if any thing can be done.there address is jdbyrider 125 south roosevelt,p.o.box 1126, burlington iowa 52601. there phone number is 319 754 4469 or toll free 1 88868 7861. we dont think they should be able to over charge us that much. please let us know what can be done.

Our warranty is one of the best out there when it comes to used car dealerships, and coverage for two years or 24,000 miles and for the most part our vehicles have 80-100 thousand miles on them when they get on the lot (thats alot of miles to cover on a vehicle that all ready has that many miles on them) here ya go.

ENGINE: All internal lubricated parts, cylinder block and head/head gaskets, intake gaskets, fuel pump, oil pump, thermostat, timing gears and chain/belt, valve cover/valve cover gasket and water pump.

ELECTRICAL: alternator, starter, starter solenoid, battery, battery terminals, oxygen sensors, oil sensor, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires.

TRANSMISSION: All internal lubricated parts, seals, gaskets, torque converter, and transmission case.

FRONT WHEEEL DRIVE: Axel shafts, final drive housing and internal parts, front-wheel bearings, and universal and constant velocity joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, steering rack and pinion, idler arms, upper and lower ball joints, steering linkage, and power steering pump.

REAR WHEEL DRIVE: Axel shafts, drive-axel housing and internal parts, driveshaft, rear wheel bearings, retainers, universal and constant velocity joints.

Now with a warranty like that you know we dont put junk cars out there they are inspected before they go out and we have no problems at all working on your vehicle as long as you keep up with your routine maintenance (oil changes EVERY! 30000 miles)

Please find me a dealership that gives you warranty for the full length of the loan as far as I know there isn't one.

JDB usually sells to idividuals with poor credit histories, thus the high interest rates and the crappy cars. They have made a ton of money off of you already, enough money to have paid for the van 4 times their cost at least. Why would they take it back and not sue?

You signed the loan agreement. If you didn't research the cost of the van before buying, that is your fault. Predatory car lots like JDB count on people that can't buy a vehicle anywhere else, and since it's they know they are the 'last chance' for most of you, they will take that to their full advantage. They don't care about you.

Pay the think off, get your credit back on track, and get a real car. If you give it back, you will have a repo on your credit report and will have to go to another preditory car dealer to get a car. You will never get out of this bind until you get your credit cleared up, and that includes paying for things you bought and signed for.
