JDF Auto Diane Ferry deceptive used cars sales fraud St Charles, Missouri
I purchased a car, w one owner in near perfect condition w low miles - from JDF Auto in Saint Charles, on 4/5/12. We were told that the only thing wrong w the car was a LCD faceplate on the air conditioning/climate control. Jon Hawkins and Royce - the sales people - insisted upon taking the car to their inspector that night instead of me taking it to my own inspector the next day. We were told the only mechanical issue with this vehicle the LED readout on the climate control unit was intermittently faulty. In addition, we specifically asked if this vehicle had ever been wrecked or in an accident. We were told that it had not.
On 4/7/12 it broke down when I was out of town. We have yet to receive any response to the letters we sent to the JDF Auto sales office at 3701 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. Less than 48 hours after taking possession of the vehicle, the clutch completely failed. Upon having the vehicle towed to a dealership, it was identified the clutch was worn to the point where it was not able to drive the vehicle. Because the clutch had been worn out for an extensive period of use - which I have in writing from Porsche - the flywheel to be catastrophically damaged. The rear main seal was also found to be leaking. The repair bill for having these issues corrected came to $3,353.39. Please note: This is after significant effort and research finding lower priced parts, resulting in an approximate $1,100 savings which the dealer subsequently price matched.
When I called the dealership Jon laughed and said that I was "f***ed, the car was "as-is" even though he lied to me about the car. This break-down also resulted in my being stranded out of town over Easter and missing 2 days of work. I ultimately had to take the train back to St. Louis while the dealership waited for parts. In addition to the break-down, we subsequently found a repair estimate for body damage listing the Point of Impact as the Left Front Corner. Again we were lied to when we asked if the vehicle had ever been wrecked or in an accident. We would have paid far less for the vehicle had the wreck to the front end been disclosed A previously wrecked Porsche is worth thousands of dollars less than book price.
When I called again Jon said that when my brother spoke to him when I called on the 4/7 that he had threatened his life - I was right there he did not. I wrote them a letter I tried to resolve this I told them that this was very serious deception on the part of JDF Auto, Royce and Jon Hawkins. This breaks Missouri laws as to have not disclosed either the mechanical issues, or body damage history. I included the relevant Missouri statutes pertaining to deceptive trade practices, 407.020 R.S.Mo. and 407.025 R.S.Mo. JDF has ignored our requests to be made whole for the deception. We have had to pursue legal action in the courts for both actual and punitive damages - a case against JDF Auto in Saint Charles court in the amount of $5,000. I'd prefer to resolve this matter amicably, as opposed to having to engage the courts and/or the attorney general and not have to have this drag on I put *all* my money down on this car. As such, we would consider being made whole for our out of pocket repair expenses sufficient to resolve both the mechanical and body damage issues. We asked for $3,353.39 from JDF Auto as early as possible and said that if that does not happen, we will have to pursue legal action in the courts for both actual and punitive damages from JDFs deception of $5,000.00. The registered agent/owner of JDF Auto, Ms. Diane Perry of Chesterfield will not respond to our request, and has managed to avoid service from the Sheriff dept.

All used and new car dealers in the state of Missouri are required to have vehicles inspected prior to delivering the vehicles to the customer. This inspection is a safety inspection not a mechanical inspection. When you purchase a used vehicle and plan on making a trip it is to your best interest to have that vehicle inspected mechanically. I think you were completely wrong and blaming the sales people for having the car inspected by their mechanic because they are required by law to do so. You were welcome and should have taken this Porsche to your mechanic before you major trip then you wouldn't of had to ride back on the train to St. Louis and possibly would have been able to contact the dealership and they would've work something out. You act like you expect these sales people to know the ins and outs of this vehicle. I promise you they may have only driven that car around the block or to move it from one space to another. The only way they would know for sure that is ever been wrecked or not is by a Carfax. And you have the right to request a copy of the Carfax. I think you had buyers remorse after the car broke down and you wanted to blame someone else and therefore you decided to put the screws to anyone you possibly could and that was the sales people. The salesman are hard-working and they work 10 to 12 hours a day and six sometime seven days a week. Walk a mile in their shoes for a while

Ok lets set the record straight. I Jon Hawkins sold a 20,000 mile porshe 6 speed to a drug addict lady that could not drive a manual to save her soul. She burnt the clutch out a week later because trash should not drive luxury sports cars. I would have been very happy to help her get a new clutch, but she had her red neck brother call and threaten me numerous times. I offered to have a meeting with him any day of the week, but he turned out to be just a telephone tough guy with out the testicles to back up his mouth. If someone has a ligitimate complaint I feel that grownups can have a civilized meeting and find comon ground. I will never respond to threats from trailer trash. The car had no accidents, only a small scuff on the bumper that had not been repaired. She calls me a liar, but the only the only lie I saw was the weight she listed on her drivers liscence...140lbs my a*s (more like 340lbs). This lady was nuts along with her family and Judge Alex can kiss my a*s. We have been in business 13 years with this being our one and only complaint. I have sold 100's of cars over that time with a large percentage being repeat customers.
Thanks, Jon Hawkins JDF Auto

JDF Auto Complaint

First let me say I saw this on Judge Alex in the month of November. And this lady that is writing the complaint, she lost her case on the clutch. She clearly purchased the Porche with an "As Is" stricker on the window and she signed that sticker. Judge Alex is smart and he knew which one of the two sides was the crook. This lady was sent packing with her tale between her legs. And I do not believe the sales people were rude to her. Her brother could not appear in court, because he was under house arrest and could not leave this state. So he was proven to be the lier. I believe he did threaten the empioyees at the car lot and Jon was just defending himself and his employer.
JDF was required to pay for the accident that was not previously not disclosed. However in the case of the bad clutch, JDF was the winner here. Judge Alex knew who was write and who was wrong, an "As is Sale" is just what it says.
JFD Auto sells hundreds of vehicles eash month and I can assure you, I believe in their honesty. Especially after seeing this nasty report. When I am in the market for a used car, I will definately look towards JDF Auto and Jon Hawkins and Royce Cole.
They soulded super nice to me on the phone.
