In November, 2004, I received a phone call from Gerald E. Moore and associates "law firm". I was told that I was going to owe triple of what I owed if I didn't resolve the matter with this company immediately. I resolved the issue (it was a drawn out and difficult process because of the collection company) I paid $1,145 (a 50% settlement on an originally $1000 credit line).

I was then called by another "lawfirm" that was attempting to collect the other half of "the legally paid-in-full" debt in April 2005. I faxed them and Jefferson Capital my payoff letter from Gerald E. Moore in the beginning of April.

To my amazement, when I pulled my credit report on May 23rd, Jefferson Capital has now reported a new line of debt/collection for $1145 in May 2005. I have paid this debt, legally, and now I cannot find a phone # to contact the company.

This is a sleazy low-life company, that buys time-barred debts, against the legal practices of the FDCPA. And as if their slimeball practices for that aren't enough, they continue to report negative credit that has already been paid. I want this company to fry.

I am hoping to find a pro-bono attorney (or someone to help me with this, as I have already paid too much to them, and cannot get credit to save my life, as they keep adding new collections to my credit, causing it to suffer).
