Complaint Review:
Jeffrey Feulner Men's Divorce Law Firm
Clients of the Mens Divorce Law Firm:
I am writing this here to you to make sure that what happened to me does not in any way happen to you.
The purpose of this correspondence is for informational purposes only and to
state only facts of my experience with this law firm, especially those with the
lead attorneys Jeffrey Feulner, Carina Leeson and Jean Moses. Even if your
experiences are satisfactory, at this point, continue to read on and learn. My
lessons may help to insure you receive the maximum legal benefit at the least possible
cost versus at the most cost in the form of continued billings and locking you
down with this law firm and very little services rendered, if any, as was in my
case.
The later part of last year, I had an appointment with Carina Leeson who appears to be the
lead marketing attorney. Very charming and makes a lot of promises up front
to get you to retain the law firm. You see this law firm is a marketing legal
mill. They heavily advertise everywhere to get the numbers of
prospective clients through the door. I see this as an issue with legal advertising
and why for most of past time, it was illegal for attorneys to advertise. In
prior times, their legal worth came from word of mouth based on client
satisfaction and referrals from other attorneys. This firms initial cash flow
comes from getting you to sign a non-refundable retainer agreement from heavy legal
marketing campaigns. This is their initial license to steal (they believe), because
they believe that no matter the reason, they get to keep your money, even if
services, promises or representations are not rendered by the law firm, at any
time. This couldnt be further from the truth. It is not a license to steal your
money. It may be non-refundable, but tangible legal services and
outcomes must be rendered as represented (in the form of motions, discovery,
etc.). Most importantly, promises and representations must be rendered as well,
because its what they said they would do for our money. We rely heavily on
what they tell us they are going to do. No attorney can make representations
concerning specific end results of your case, but they must do what they say
they are going to do to advance your case. In my case, not one legal representations
or promise to do what they said they were going to do was done in my legal
matter. Not one motion, not one hearing was scheduled, not one legal strategy
move to help me. This law firm cleverly has their paralegal staff
burn through your money for doing nothing as was in my case (presumably this is
to cover their high overhead to include their huge cost of legal advertising
and marketing). I cant speak for your case, but the purpose here is to make
you more informed and to help you understand my factual experience so that you
dont lose your money. Additionally, I had to continually guide this under
staff on the facts of my case, which was not a complicated matter. I should
have billed them! This inexperienced (because I caught them making many
mistakes, all documented, which is malpractice) under staff attempts to do
most of the fake legal leg work on your case while the real attorneys are
working hard in the community extensively marketing their law firm to garner
more and more clients to get through the door for that next initial non
refundable deposit. Also, on my case they tried to bill me another $5,000.00
just because they noticed my matter for trial. A year ahead of time! The trial judge later ruled my
case was not ripe for trial. I would have been out a total of over $10,000.00
for nothing done. Just dont let this overbilling happen to you. Again, ask for bi-monthly billing statements!
Also, dont believe them when this law firm says their representation is expensive because
it is the best. Well, again, I received no legal services for my money, but
most cases never see trial and settle at mediation. Mediation is a relatively simple
procedure where you dont even need an attorney because its non-binding if you
dont like the terms and conditions of the opposing party. Family law is not
rocket science. In fact, most cases should cost about 1/4 the amount this firm
charges. Its simply their high overhead we are paying for and its wrong.
If you ever feel you have an issue with this law firm or any law firm, there are
several sources to grieve your complaint:
First and foremost, is the Florida Bar. This is like the police force for the
lawyers. Their web address is www.floridabar.org
This is the place attorneys hate to be grieved. It is simple to file a
complaint against any lawyer. Always stay with only the facts of your
complaint. You may also be able to get some of your money back through a fund
the Bar administers. Most importantly, there is no time limit
on filing a complaint with the Florida Bar.
Second, is the Better Business Bureau. Their web address is www.bbb.org
Law firms are nothing more than businesses. You pay money and expect a service
for your money. If you dont feel you received less than the money you paid,
like any service, you have a right to file a complaint against that business.
Third, is the lawyer website that Mr. Feulner falsely advertised about on his website.
This website is www.avvo.com When I hired Mr. Feulner his website claimed he had a perfect 10.0 rating. In fact, his "consumer" rating is only 8.0, not a 10.0 as he advertises. Had I known this, I would have never hired this law firm. Mr. Feulner still advertises a false above favorable rating to this
day.
Finally, there are several websites that allow a consumer to rate this attorney. They
are this one, the best, www.ripoffreport.com and www.lawyerratingz.com Had I searched
these sites before hiring Mr. Feulner, I would have never hired him. His
ratings are abysmal. 1.9 Out of 5 on one site. The point here is that I am
not the only one that has expressed concern. I am not an isolated case. Other
clients have been taken advantage of like I was. Just dont be
their next possible victim. Ask for by-monthly billing statements. They denied
them to me. This way, you can see if money spent matches real legal services
rendered on your case. The burn rate of your money should be slow and
deliberate for services rendered. It was not in my case and that of other
clients. Research the Internet. There are similar stories all over the place.
If you are happy with the services you are receiving from this law firm, simply ignore this correspondence and save as a future reference should you end up not beiing happy with this law firm. We have already helped countless current clients to help keep this law firms services in check and this is really the only purpose for reaching out to you. Keep your eyes and ears open
and take a little bit of time to educate yourself in family law. Again, it's not rocket science and you should not have to take out a loan or mortgage to pay this firm! Again, Ask for bi-monthly billing statements. They have to give them to you, by law!
