I fell for for their wed ad when I had IRS probles. Lots of upfront sweet talk.

I paid their fees and furnished all documentations. Every few days a representative would call. Suddendly I started receiving notice that they need more money. My case manager would talk to me unless they received more money.

My fault. I sent more money. And slowly got deeper into their clutches. I provided more and more info and they seemed to drag their feet. No real negotiations were made.

Finally they presented an amount to be paid to the IRS. It blew me away. The amount was not near what it should be. I called my case manager and asked if the number presented weren't from the IRS. No! They, the firm did the calculations. Those were their calculations---not the IRS.

I asked if she had talked to the IRS. She said No. Not yet. Imagine how I felt after months of bills and phone call.

Angry, I called the IRS and worked out things on my own. I was able to reduce the amount from $36,000 to $15,000. I called Fouts office and terminated their services immediately. They had the audacity to charge me for their on that call to.

Lastly, before you call Fouts Office, call the IRS first. They will work with you.

This client is unhappy with us even though we got him a great outcome.

We do not understand why this client (or in this case his spouse), was not happy with the outcome on his case. We were able to convince his bank to correct retirement distributions reported to the IRS which substantially reduced his tax liability.

The task of lowering a tax liability and getting a bank to correct its tax filing documents can be time consuming. We saved this taxpayer over $15,000 in underlying tax alone, not including the interest and penalties we saved him. He was billed approx. $4,400 for approx. 22 hours of work. In other words, he got his investment back and 300% more. Sounds like a winner to me!

It says he was unhappy with our billing practices, but the way we charge was clearly stated in our Client-Attorney Agreement. We billed her by the hour for all work done as the Agreement plainly states on its first page.

He was thrilled at the result we obtained, but he had an angry non-liable spouse who seemed put out about having to deal with this, and we’re not sure if she was the cause of this complaint.

We have an A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating. We have been in business 20 years, and represented thousands of clients in all 50 states and 29 foreign countries. We are proud that less than 0.4% of our clients have ever complained. We regret this person is unhappy, but we can’t make everyone happy, even though we try.

You can speak to us personally at 1-800-509-2770.

Sincerely,

Fouts Law Firm
