We remodelled out kitchen and installed all new appliances, including a Jenn-Air cooktop and oven. After the install, I questioned whether the oven door closed properly and had a repairman come to look at it. I was told it was fine.

After a few months of use, the oven light would go on by itself. We'd come home from work to find it on, and I'd turn it off only to find it would come on again by itself. I assumed it was because the door didn't seem to close all the way.

Another repairman came and wrote on the work order to "replace hinges." For some reason, he crossed that out and instead installed a new light switch. Problem continued.

The warranty ran out and the thing never got fixed properly. Jenn-Air tells me there is a "repair kit" for the thing and that I can buy one from them and pay someone to come and install it. They acknowledged there was a problem with that model's doors.

I've since called another repair place, and the service charge and part and labor will be nearly what I paid for the oven!!! Don't buy these products, and whatever you do if you do buy them, BE INSISTENT THAT YOUR REPAIR IS DONE CORRECTLY AND QUICKLY. Even if you are morally correct in thinking that they should have fixed it the first time, that doesn't help in the end if you end up paying for the expensive repair yourself.
