Purchased a Leather Sofa and Loveseat which was a floor model. Salesperson talked me into taking 0% financing for 6 months. I had purchased the items in March 2001 and my payment was to be due in September 2001.

I sent my payment into them on 9/6/01 and they did not cash my check until 9/26/01 and then they billed me for $154.00 in service charges. I told them I refused to pay, and they just kept increasing my service charge. I then contacted the Department of Banking who was absolutely USELESS, they sent them a copy of my dispute and they have not ever even contacted me back and the fees just keep increasing!!

Now my credit has been tainted, I have paid my debt in full as per my agreement with them, no one will do anything, and I am being penalized because they held my check for over two weeks!! I am sure it did not take over 2 weeks for my check to be received. I have all copies of my checks and correspondence to the Dept of Banking as well as Jennifer Leather. Financing was through HRS, which is Household Credit Retail Services.

Jennifer Convertibles says there is nothing they can do

#2Author of original report

Since my last report, Jennifer Convertibles says there is nothing they can do, I have to deal with the finance company that they have contracted to do their work. THAT'S FINE, FROM WHAT I READ YOU DON'T EVEN BACK UP YOUR FURNITURE, LET ALONE THE COMPANIES YOU DO BUSINESS WITH.

As for HRS, they just sent me a letter which was mighty big of them. My $154 bill is now over $700, but they are now willing to settle my bill for $448. GEE THANKS. Keep tacking on that interest HRS, I would file bankruptcy before giving you a dime!!!

And as for Jennifer Convertibles, I have successfully thwarted over 10 sales to your business and will continue to do everything in my power to send your customers running to another store to purchase their furniture!!!
