Jennifer Convertibles Quality And Service Sucks! Poor Quality in Workmanship and Poor Service Thousand Oaks California

In February of 2008, my wife and I purchased a $1,000 Leather Sleeper Sofa with a 12 week lead time. We received the thing, to which I use the term lightly as it came with a very poorly built wood frame backing and loose bolts. It also arrived with a very large scratch on one of the seating surfaces.

I contacted the store immediately speaking to a salesman Michael and also the manager Peter and they requested their service department to get hold of us, to which it took one week to schedule an appointment and another week for their tech to show up. Both were very sorry for the inconvenience however when I asked them to discount the poorly made sleeper sofa they cited it wasn't company policy and until such time the tech noted what was wrong they could not do anything.

The tech noted the wood frame was poorly built, admitted the mounting bolts for the arm were loose and tightened them up hwoever the seating pad would have to be ordered. I again called the store speaking to Michael, then the manager Peter askig again for them to discount the sleper sofa and again they refused and now gave me their regional managers name Brett Bamford and phone (800)595-1422 number to which I called, left voice mail several times and have not received the favor of reply.

A few weeks later we received a small box in the mail with a leather topped seating cover with a zipper attached - a do it yourself repair kit if you will to replace the leather cover which sent me over the edge.

I contacted Peter today, registered my complaint asked once again for a price reduction in view of circumstances and was told no. He would make the appointment to have the tech come out and fix the pad and if I needed anything further to contact Brett Bamford again at the number above.

Peter mentioned the great difficulty in contacting Mr. Bamford, that all you can do is leave messages and hope he replies. I am not holding my breath.

My wife and I are not happy at all with the level of quality we expected for the price, nor caliber of the service after the sale.

We would not reccomend anyone buy anything from this store as what you see in the store is not what you get. All product is manufactured in china where corners are cut, quality is compromised and the store won't stand behind the product and cuts corners in service.

More than likely, we will file a report with the BBB but in the long run seeing any monies returned to us is highly unlikely.
