I contacted a seller off of craigslist. She was selling a 2001 ford f150 for around $2500. She said her name was Jennifer Dumas. She gave me a story about how her husband died in iraq 4 months ago and that it brings bad memories. At the beginning i noticed that her grammar sucked and that she used words wrongly, i justed assumed that she was not educated very highly. When the time came around that i had enough money saved up, i wanted to buy it. She instructed me to wait until i receive an invoice from ebay. Let me tell you, this invoice was very legit looking. There were pictures and just everything that an invoice would have, like company names, ebay agents,etc..She told me to wire the money via moneygrahm, so i went to the closest moneygrahm location and wired 2500 dollars and it cost me 100 dollars to send it. She told me to let her know when i send it and she will send me the tracking number of the truck(it was being shipped obviously). After i told her that i sent it, she emailed me back and told me it was being sent. Two weeks later i started getting very ancy because i hadn't gotten shipping conformation or the truck yet. That night i decided to try to find her phone number so i could call and talk to her. I typed her name in google and the first thing that came up was jennifer dumas scam! That was the worst moment of my life, my heart sank and i felt shocked. AT first i was in denial that it was the same person but i read the report and it was the same story about her husband and moneygrahm. That night i called money grahm and tried to get some info out of them to see if i could get my money back and they told me that they couldnt tell me anything. Well, after 45 minutes on the phone with some indian guy who i could barely understand i got the information that the money had been picked up in New York. Well thats not Montana. I have seen one reply on someones rippoff from this same person saying that they were almost victims but they saw the reports but they said that they had gotten an address in southern california and they called and asked about the car and she said " on craigslist" then she apparently got realy mad and hung up. I hope this will lead to some type of arrest. I know that this is not a major concern of the police and the fbi but it is to me and i will take whatever i can get, i just want justice. That was in june 2008 and it is may 2009 so i am revovered now but i still want justice, and my money back. I am 16 and this was my first car buying experience, it sucked. I hope this helps anyone who is being lured into scams and will hopefully make them become aware that these people are out there and they dont care about who they take money from or how much money they take.
