my name is menerva jean and im reporting that ive been scammed for 1,450 for a 2005 nissan maxima that i never recieved.The seller name is jennifer howard and she had help his name is william garrett which played as the ebay agent. I was on craiglist seen the car emailed the seller which is jennefer about the car.
she sent me back a an email stated that she gonna contact ebay vechile protection program to make sure the deal goes right. I recieved the invoice with looked real becasue it had ebay logos all over it and it had all the detail bout the car and jennifer information and the ebay agent information which was william garrett.
i was told that if i made the payment the money would be in ebay account and the money wouldn't get release until i got the car so i thought it was real.
ok i asked how to make payment she told me through western union. Then i went ahead and made the payment. she told me i only had to pay half and when i recieve the car i pay the rest. But i was recieving email from her before i made the payment but once i made the payment every emailed stop.
i contacted ebay and then they told me it was a scam and when i try to email jennifer back i didnt get a response and by the time i made it to western union the money was already paid out william garrett who's suppose to be ebay agent.ive been emailing her trying to find out what going on no answer .
then when i went back on one of the email pages and emailed i want a refund then i got an email stated that ebays recieved the payment but before they ship the car i have to pay the rest which is 1,450 .but when i emailed her back no i want my money back because ebay told me it was a scam i haven't got no more email from her anymore.
i have all the emails i have jennifer howard address and her email address and i also have william garrett address. i dont think that its fair ebay know that people are using there logos and there not trying to do any thing about it they just telling me it's my lost.
i worked hard for my money i also have the reciept for the western union money transfer.i need help can someone please help please some oone help.

This scam has been around for a while and you will not get your money back. Ebay has nothing to do with craigslist, so you can't sue ebay. The email you received from ebay was a fake and was made by the scammer.
Once the scammer has your "payment", you will never hear from them again. They will move on to the next victim who answers their fake ad.
Learn from your mistake and never buy a car off craigslist unless you can meet the seller in person and test drive the car.
