We drove 3.5 hours one way from Virginia to buy a Kia Sorento LX AWD V6 at Team Kia dealership in Pennsylvania. We showed the general manager Jeremy Bauman a picture of a MSRP of an LX AWD V6 for $32,390 - the general manager and their salesman, Daniel Bennett researched it. Daniel Bennett informed us their car has a MSRP of over $34,000. Since we owned prior a Kia Sorento LX AWD V6 that had a MSRP of $32,000 we presumed we were upgrading. We did not finance and bought the car right out in cash and expected to receive a better deal. However the manager was not willing to negotiate the price at all not even provide weather matts or anything else extra. When we received the car it was not detailed (windows were still all dirty, sloppy vacuumed, and the outside was lacking cleaning) it was too late to have these issues fixed, the shop was closed.

We drove back home with the car and arrived very late that night.

The next morning we saw that all the features were missing - rear bumper beepers, seat heat, Sirius satellite - things we did not look for immediately nor was provided to us. Since it was a used car we looked for damages, scratches etc. It was very late when we left and we did not expect we would receive a lower package in Sorento than we had prior more of in the same LX model. If they would have provided the correct MSRP, then we would have caught own to the lower package. We wanted to return the car within less than 38 hours and they stated no. They would only buy it back for $2,000 less than we bought it from them. We googled the value of the car and it was only worth $ 24,000 instead of $25,990 what they sold it for.

We are very disappointed in this dealership, especially since they were aware of these downgrades in the car and did not inform us of it and covered it up by giving us an inaccurate higher MSRP.

We definitely would not recommend this dealership to my friends and family, we feel they screwed us for over $2,000 and provided us with wrong information. They did not go above and beyond expectations especially the manager.

It took a week for the dealer to make this offer.

During this week the other two cars we looked had sold.

From the time the dealer called with this offer and the time they wanted it back, we only had one full day to look for other cars - within that time we did not find another replacement.

So we had to decline the offer - before having no car at all.

It is good to hear that the dealership agreed to refund you and that you posted the fact instead of just letting it hang out there. 

But if your actions in how you bought the car weren't confusing enough, making people wonder what in the world you were doing.  Your actions are now even MORE confusing in not accepting apparently what you wanted them to do originally.

Why are you now declining the offer you apparently wanted just a few days ago?

Seems like there may be a lot more to this story.

Jeremy Bauman called and offered us the full price for the vehicle back-

we had to decline, however we truly appreciate the offer and really admire the action by the manager.

You failed to properly research your purchase and also failed to inspect the vehicle. You incorrectly assumed the vehicle was an upgrade based on the price.

As a result, you are suffering from a case of buyer's remorse. Happy motoring!

Mr. Bauman $2,000 is a lot of money.

Yes, I did throw in Year beacuse the only item here you didn't mention was year was the vehicle in the MSRP picture or the one you ended up buyin. A different year could more than makeup for that $2,000 difference.

Mr. Bauman I was very pleased with my old Kia Sorento LX and I loved my car. It saved my live on my recent car accident, therefore I wanted the same car again.

To refresh your memory I attached the picture with the MSRP again. It cleary shows the year as 2020, the same as year as the car you sold me. Informing me of a higher MSRP with $34,000 made me believe it had a Convienent Package. Only the next higher trim level "S" has such a high MSRP. The car we bought is an LX ! And only has an MSRP of $32,000. 

This was my first used car I bought and yes I agree I should have been smarter and should not have been scamed like this, by having a wrong MSRP presented to me from a trusted Kia Dealership.  I certainly leraned my lesson.

Buyer's Remorse is not a RipOff. The only RipOff here is the one you did to yourself.

But at least you were original. I think you may be the first person who said they showed a picture of a vehicle to a dealer with an MSRP when they were shopping for a Used Car. Most people go in looking for a set of features they want, not with the goal to find a car that cost more originally. You are talking about only a $2000 difference, did you even once ask what features were on the car?

Of course, most people also don't drive 3.5 hours, apparently without any notice or research to even see what the dealer may or may not have in stock.

One also has to wonder what you are not saying. Why would you go in wanting the exact same car you had (Year, Make, Model, Features)? Yes, I did throw in Year because the only item here you didn't mention was year was the vehicle in the MSRP picture or the one you ended up buying. A different year could more than makeup for that $2,000 difference.

If the features of the car you are complaining about were important enough, those are items you should have verified that were on the car BEFORE you bought it.

We wanted to return the car within less than 38 hours and they stated no.
- Because you bought the car "As-Is"

We googled the value of the car and it was only worth $ 24,000 instead of $25,990 what they sold it for.
- That's an incorrect statement. The "value" of the car is what you agreed to pay for it. So in your case, the "value" was $25,990 and exactly what you paid. You probably should have "googled' before you agreed to buy it.

They did not go above and beyond expectations especially the manager.
- Not allowing you to return the car isn't a failure to go "above and beyond".
