We were specifically looking for a small siz cockapoo puppy when we located this breeder.  We paid $600 for a 9 month old cockapoo that was determined by our vet to be malnourished, unsocialized and poorly bred.  She even suggested the strong possibility of inbreeding.

When we first saw 2 cockapoos that the breeder had to offer she was "grooming" them.  both were severly matted and she was being extremely rough while trying to brush them out.  She explained that her husband had been in the hospital and she had not been able to brush them for a few weeks.  The matting on these dogs was so severe our vet insisted on trimming our little guy free of charge that first visit.  The vet said he had to be in a lot of pain just from knots in his chest and under his front legs.

In her haste to "groom" him for us to take home, the breeder cut a nickel sized piece of skin out of his chest.  We didn't notice it until we got home and removed the harness he had on.  There was blood on our back seat.

A few days after our initial vet visit the dog started limping so we returned to the vet where she took xrays and determied that his front legs were not developing properly and this type of concern could be caused by several different things, such as poor nutrition, lack of exercise, poor breeding.  He will always have problems with his joints.

It has been 6 weeks since we adopted our dog and his socialization is very very slow.  It's so sad to watch him want to play but not know how.  He spends a lot of time hiding under the bed when someone makes a sudden noise.

To be fair, I never contacted the breeder about our concerns or issues.  I was so angry I didn't want to yell at her.  We decided after the first vet visit that we had been ripped off by a puppy mill but would never return the dog for a refund as we didn't want him to go back to that environment.

Apparently this woman just breeds the dogs and leaves them in the kennel or allows them out for only short periods of time.  My guess would be that the only time they get bathed or brushed is when someone is coming to look at them.  Our dog appears to have been group fed and since he is a very small cockapoo must have not been able to eat as much as needed.  He currently only eats once a day and that's if we bring the bowl to him and sit quietly next to him.  It's very sad to see.  It breaks my heart that were not able to save all of the dogs in this kennel.  I have adopted dogs from the pound that were in better condition that this one.  Beware!!
