I bought a GMC Safari that had a contingency contract that stated that three parts would be placed on the vehicle for the contract to be valid.  Well while trying to get that fixed, the check engine light started to come on.  I could not pass the inspection that was due so I went back to the dealership.  I ended up buying another vehicle while Jerry Cromwell and Steve his finance and loan originator stated that they would work with the warranty company to fix it.  Well every 30 days max, I would check on my vehicle.  Jerry and Steve would tell me they are working on it.

Well after about 4 months and no change, a friend and I stopped by to let them know that my husband would be by to pick up the vehicle.  When my husband went by to pick up the vehicle, they stated that Steve was not there and that he would have to come back the next day.  So I went back the next day, Steve and Jerry were both there.  They admitted that they had misplaced my key.  I asked them how they were going to rectify the issue.  They said they would call a locksmith.  I told them that the key needed to be a manufacture key and key fob since that is what they lost and that I would give them 30 days.

I would drive by every week and noticed that the vehicle had not moved.  Near the 30 days, I stopped in again.  Steve stated he was still working with the lock smith.  I told him that he was wrong in keeping my key.  I then talked to Jerry.  He told me that they were doing all that they could and apologized again about the key.  So my husband went there again to pick up the key, but they said that Steve was out and they did not know where he put the key.  I would try repeatedly to pick up the key, but Jerry would act like he didn't know where Steve would keep the key.

So my vehicle was due for regristration.  But my registration was still locked in the vehicle.  DMV advised me to take the tags and I had 30 days to correct the situation.  I informed Steve and Jerry Cromwell that I had to pull the tags since they could not give me my key to get my registration inside the vehicle.  I told them they had their final chance.  Within a week, my vehicle disappeared off the lot.  I contacted Credit Acceptance instantly who stated they would turn on the tracking device that was on the vehicle.

I tried contacting Jerry and he had an instant case of amnesia and noone ever saw Steve again.  I contacted Credit Acceptance again and they reassured me that they would again turn on my tracking device and they needed to contact the first representative that I had talked to and they would be back in touch.  I then contacted the police to report my vehicle stolen.  They came back and told me that it would have to be the Finance company because they owned the tracking device and they were partners with Extreme Auto and they technically still owned the vehicle.  So I called Credit Acceptance again.

This now is 4 months from the time my vehicle disappeared in Nov 2011.  They took the officer's information who stated he needed someone to contact him so that he could take a statement from them to do the police report.  They had to make a reasonable effort by turning on the tracking device.  The representative took the information.  I called the following week as a follow up, but then Credit Acceptance helpful customer service representatives began to get nasty with me.  Two to four months later Jerry Cromwell closes Extreme Auto.

Credit Acceptance during all of this never tracked the vehicle.  Interesting action from a finance company who should have a vested interest in the property as well correct?  Funny how they have never sent anyone here to Waldorf, MD to investigate either or at least try to repossess the vehicle right? I also asked for the information on Jerry Cromwell and  Jerry Cromwell and Credit Acceptance has wronged many customers.   Other reviews (((links redacted)))
