Jesse James Lawn Ranger Shelley Jeanne Spencer Neisler The debris from the removal of two trees was left in our yard for over six weeks. We had to pay a seperate company to come and remove the tree debris. Jacksonville Florida
We hired "The Lawn Rangers" based on the work they did at a property up the street from us. They gave us a great price on removing two trees from our yard and claimed to be licensed and insured. While actually getting everything coordinated and finally getting them out to take down the trees was a bit of a cluster, they finally got out there and got the trees down. There were some minor things that bothered us - we asked them to cut the tree in 18 inch pieces that we could split with a log splitter and that didnt happen. They requested part of the payment in cash to pay a day laborer - but 2/3rds of the payment was via check so there was a money trail. (as well as a text trail)
The large issue is that the debris sat in our yard for over six weeks. We had two notices placed by the city admonishing us to get the debris removed. Our text messages to Shelley were getting no response. We were told three seperate times that a company had been hired to remove the debris. No one came. Then the person responding to our texts was a "friend" of Shelleys and we were advised that her father had died and she was in a recovery facility after a breakdown following her fathers death. I finally posted in the Nextdoor app about what was going on to warn my neighbors to not use this "company". Imagine my surprise when I recieved a message from a detective asking me to contact him with the information regarding my situation with the Lawn Rangers. There was another complaint that had just landed on his desk and he had seen my complaint on the Nextdoor app. I forwarded all information requested and discovered that there were about 5 more complaints that had found there way to the police. I was contacted by yet another individual several days later asking how we had gotten our debris removed. We had to hire another company to come out and clean it off of our property to avoid being cited.
I was please to find out that Shelley and her crew were hit with a citation of $255 for failure to complete the contracted job at our property. I am not sure how many other jobs they got citations on due to not removing debris.
Do not use these people to do tree removal. They are not ethical, they have some serious issues and you do NOT want them around your home. Pay a bit more and hire someone with the tools needed to complete the job.
