Complaint Review: JESSICA LEARY

Jessica Leary has finally RESOLVED the problem with her GRAND FATHER in which she took a vehicle from a car dealership purchased by the Grand Father Richard Smith my himself, but  Jessica Leary took the vehicle and held the vehicle HOSTAGE for over one year and refused to return the vehicle to its rightful owner RICHARD SMITH ( the Grandfather )

Tichard Smith, the Grandfather to JESSICA LEARY for over a year tried to have the vehicle " returned " to him by his Granddaughter to NO AVAIL. JESSICA LEARY refused, and even refused to have any conversation with RICHARD SMITH. This situation brought a HIGH DEGREE of DISTRESS to this SENIOR CITIZEN and grandfather. It seemed the family relationship was brought to its peak of turmoil and ill feelings as time went on. I met with RICHARD SMITH personally and you could see the hurt and embarrassment in him as he talked about what his own granddaughter had done to him. I saw an elderly mans eyes well up with tears, as he fought back these tears. The honor of his family seemed to be destroyed over this situation. How do you abuse your own familt >

None the less, 14 mopnths went by and Richard Smith contacted Richard Bruno who after listening to the story promised to HELP Richard Smith. Time went by, calls vwere made ( to no asvail ), skip tracing went from address to address to address to address.... to no avail. It seemed Jessica Leary moved in with a THOMAS KELLEY, a 22 year old who was home from the middle east conflict and had hooked up with Jessica Leary. Mr. Thomas seemed to not want to cooperate under any circumstances and even threaten Richard Bruno, but coming from a 22 year old, it did not make any difference, the bottom line was both Thomas Kelley and Jessica Leary refused to surrender the vehicle which the temporary plates has already EXPIRED, and the registration was still in the name of Richard Leary. In essence the vehicle was on the streets illegally.

There came a time that Richard Smith, the rightful owner of the vehicle did some investigation work on his own and found out Thomas Kelley was home from the Mideast and was assigned to the National Guard in Clearwater. Richard Smith specifically went to the base to speak with Thomas Kelley's commanding Officer. Only a certain amount of information went back and forth between the Base Commander andv Richard Smith, as well as other information on Thomas Kelley that would have  future situations regarding his command and him personally as stated briefly by his Base Commander.

Richard Bruno continued to try to locate Thomas Kelley's physical address. It seemed Thomas Kelley was using his mother's address as his residency. After checking the information out, it was later determined Kelley did not reside there.

Months went by and on August 24th Thomas Kelley contacted Richard Bruno on 6 telephone calls and " threatened " Mr. Bruno with reprisals. Mr. Bruno is by far not a person you threaten. Mr. Bruno is without a doubt someone who would take care of any threats made to him in ways that would leave you asking... what just happened. After seven call;s it became obvious that Thomas Kelley was           actively taking the opportunity to not just harrasse Mr. Bruno ... but... threaten Mr. Bruno directly. Wrong thing to do !!

A copy of the calls were kept by Mr. Bruno as evedence.

Two weeks later, Mr. Bruno contacted RICHARD SMITH and mentioned the threatening calls to Richard Smith. It was at that time Mr. Bruno was told by RICHARD SMITH that his immediate daughter known as PATTI LEARY had contacted him and gave him ( RICHARD SMITH ) some $ 4,500.00 and that this money was for theb granddaughter JESSICA LEARY. It was also stated that PATTI LEARY would continue the monthly payments for her daughter JESSICA LEARY each and every month until the car was paid off. It was also stated, according to RICHARD SMITH, that all attempts to contact JESSICA LEARY are to CEASE IMMEDIATELY. Richard Smith asked Mr. Bruno to CEASE ALL EFFORTS TO LOCATE JESSICA LEARY and that the matter was to be considered CLOSED.

Conclusion.  It took some fourteen months of trying to deal with a family member who felt she need the car more than the rightful owner and who for fourteen months hampered all attempts to resolve the situation with her GRANDFATHER. It took fourteen months for the parents of JESSICA LEARY to finally realize that family was more important. Patti Leary did the right thing and approached her father and extended a truce by stepping forward and paying for the vehicle. Perhaps now the healing can begin. You can change your home, your job, yuour dog, a husband or wife, but you can't change your family. They are yours forever.. good... or bad times. I believe that these fourteen months put a strain on everyone and the family name. Now, it is time to heal and forgive. Young adults get themselves in situations that at times they learn the hard way through their mistakes. Sometimes, it is best to put the past behind you and embrace the family for what it is... a family. We are here on this earth but a short time. It is best you embrace the family from your heart, for if you wait and don't say thjose two words.. I';m sorry... thatb other person may pass on... and you will feel the guilt inside knowing you could have SATOPPED IT... but you didn't. It is better to walk in peace and love your family for who they are. They are your blood.  Good Luck !!
