Complaint Review: Jessica Lynn Mathis

People can go back and forth for years over an issue such as this. The Truth never changes, no matter how many people preceive it to be the way they believe it to be. I remember a case in history where a man named Noah begain to build a boat that was very large. He had been instructed to build it according to specific dementions so it would accomidate pairs of every species on Earth. It actually came down to a point in time where his family was the only people that believed the Truth that he was telling. Shortly after the boat was built there came a great flood. Everything that was not on that boat vanished.
I am convinced that Jessica Lynn Mathis has convinced herself and many others of her perception of the Truth pretaining to this issue reported on these forums. It still does not make it True. In reality, at this stage of the "Big Picture", it is a done subject. I will say that there are those that know the Truth, and there are those that have chosen the disception. I pray you are not one of the latter. What has happened to this project is exactally what was suppose to happen with it. It was never suppose to happen in the first place. I along with a few others just happen to fall lame to a major side trip.
This is nothing anywhere near to Sylvester Stallone's story.I am in a position where I can review as many scripts as I please and I do not need to steal anything from anybody. There is a ton of good material out there. The secret is getting it on film or digets.

The producer seems upset that Jessica actually had the audacity to copywrite her script. We call that protecting one's property here on Earth. I get the feeling Marvin would have taken(stolen) the script from her if she had not done that. Stick to your guns Jessica. A fairly unkown and out of work, penniless actor wrote his own script and refused to just sell it for the $350K he was offered. He insisted that he star in the movie and had final say on any rewrites. That movie begat 4 sequels and a huge career boost for Sylvester Stallone. Good luck. Find an independent film producer that can help you out.

Having known all parties envolved in this so called attempt to co- produce a project, I personally would say that the it was definitly a case of very bad chemestry and dissobedience. I am sure all have learned some major life's lessons.

When someone alerted this to me over a year ago, I refused to stoop to the immature level of battling it out online. Yes, the whole story is pretty much done and I had thought this site had been taken down, but some media outlets were doing articles on me and let me know that it was still up and that I should post a response for future media that may find it when researching me. I figured I would finally post a response. As for the self promotion, that's how they work. They hype what isn't really there and pray that it leads somewhere.

I don't know the whole story and who is right or who is wrong. It is obvious from doing a quick google of Marvin Pedigo he is pretty good at self promotion and this may be his chance.

I don't know if they will let me place the link to his little blurb on the web... but it is pretty funny that he is writing about the absolutely talented Joseph Anthony Pedigo... is this his son?

Since the original post was almost 2 years ago and your reply was the only one to it... I would probably just hope that the whole story dies in the wasteland of cyberspace.

The film he speaks of having to cancel (causing near bankruptcy) after 9/11 that he spent so much money on (and used to convince others of his credibility) was nowhere near a film. The script had not even been written, much less begun even pre-production or development. It was nothing but a list of ideas hand written on paper. I know this because he asked me to help turn it into a script just before 9/11.

He also dropped the names of a couple other films when talking to possible crew members and actors as if he had been involved in producing them, but turns out that on one of them, the only involvement was that his son was an actor in it, and in another, a couple of actors that went to his "studio" (and his barber shop) were extras.

Based on him saying he already had funding and that would not be a problem, I moved to Virginia to produce the film with him. He stated that to obtain the funding, it was just a matter of putting the crew, cast, etc together.

It was a bad decision on my part to trust him.

We signed a contract stating that I would have control over script changes, the art department, casting and a few other things which as time went on he breached. The contracts stated that he was responsible for hiring of crew, funding, and other executive work. Therefore, the people he brought in to work on the film were his responsibility and he never provided the funding as stated in the contract.

The "over 50 people" consists mostly of actors, who were not working for a year on the project. They were simply waiting to be used and again were brought into the project by the Pedigos. I too spent money out of pocket. I never asked anyone to spend a dime. There were two people working with Marvin that spent money on their own accord and I had nothing to do with it, nor do I know the details involved as that was between them and Marvin. Most of the people on the crew were college interns and therefore cost nothing anyways. No one was paid a cent for their work, including me for the script, so I don't know how Marvin spent so much of his own money. He claims to have paid for the "Studio" space to meet in, but that doubled as his barber shop.He was already paying for that before this project ever came to be.

Despite my complaints, he went ahead and cast the project before he had funds in hand. He also convinced other crew members to relocate to Virginia leading them to believe that funding was already available. According to him, it was just a matter of putting the project together, including cast and crew. As time went on, and casting was done, he had the actors who had auditioned (from all over the country) come back to stay for a weekend for a call back (at their own expense in lodges) only for his son (the director) to cast his friends without acting experience.


The months drug on as we waited for his "funding" to come through. He continued to ask actors to put other projects on hold and continued to try to get the crew to do more developmental work on the project, to a point that nothing else could possibly be done on it until we had funding.

I was personally told from someone in the crew that met with Marvin regularly that he was trying to upset me enough to have me leave the project, or find a way to remove me from it, leaving it his hands.

After this, and several other decisions that I disagreed with and breachings of our agreement, I was in Louisville working on another film(after about 7 months of starting to work on this with him and yet to have the funding he said he had to begin with), when I learned he was trying to sell my script to large production companies like Dreamworks without notifying me or obtaining my permission to do so.

I told him that selling out to another production company would eradicate all of the actors he had cast and crew he had in place, and he said, "Well, their letters of intent are about to expire anyways." In the meantime, he was still telling actors to hold their other projects and did not even tell them of the possibility that he would not use them at all.

I heard statements similar to this from him throughout the project and realized that this possibly could have been his plan from the start--to get people involved, make it look like a production, hype it as much as possible and then sell it, letting go of everyone he had involved.

I had watched him manipulate people and use people from the beginning of the project and break agreements and was fed up with it, and wanted to release everyone that had come on board. So, I remained in Louisville where I retained a lawyer to look at the contracts and what had been breached. I sent out notice to everyone involved letting them know what I had done and why, relaying information from the entire project. Throughout the project, I remained honest with everyone involved as to the funding situation, and have retained several friends from the project.

The Pedigo's reacted by throwing fits, creating yahoo groups to smear my name, call me names and engaging in other childish tactics such as his family members sending threatening emails and even accusing me of Std's in public internet forums and other nonsense.

From the beginning, I told Marvin that I was a sole proprietorship. I was honest throughout the whole process and was taken advantage of.
As for the illegal copyrighting, that is just someone angry trying to ruin my credibility because they are upset that I refused to allow them to use me or the other people involved any longer.

I believe my credibility is obvious through the other projects I have worked on since, media pieces done on me, and my own projects that I continue to work on. I have nothing but positive references from everyone else that I have worked with.

Yet, the Pedigos seemed to have disappeared.

On a side note, I am in wonderment that there is a site like this where people can post whatever they want without it being verified and there not be some sort of libel liability.
