I was SCAMED out of $5,500! Status: Unemployed since December 2009 and have been for 8 months. While searching for employment I posted my resume on two Job Boards and was contacted by a company calling themselves JET , Before I committed to this service, I did an internet search for the company name and the initial contact person, Jon to see if any negative information turned up on them. It did not so I figured it was on the up and up. Wrong! What I have come to conclude is that they change company names and contact individual names so that they do not turn up on web searches. I found out later that they use several different company names, i.e.-JET. This has to be classified as an internet crime because they stated that they only do business over the internet. I classify this as Mass Marketing Fraud! They prey on people that need jobs the most by going after people that post their resumes on the internet job boards. THIS COMPANY KNOWS THAT THEY CANNOT DELIVER ON THE PROMISE OF SERVICES because they do not have the necessary expertise to deliver, which I found out the hard way. But yet they can skirt the law. Isnt it against the law if a company knows they cannot deliver but actively preys upon people that needs employment help? On 7/26/2010, Paul called me and introduced himself as a Sr. Executive Vice President, wanting to settle the issue. I did not know this name. I later did a search after we were off the phone and sure enough, he came up on several scam web pages. I told him that I was willing to pay for services used, but that I wanted a refund. He said that we had a contract and that he did not mind paying $10 to have the case arbitrated. I told him that the contract is no good if his company cannot perform the services contracted for if his people are inept at providing the services. He told me that he would assess the situation and get back to me in a couple of days. No return phone call! On 7/28/10 I did a search for his name and found that he has a long history of scamming people. My Story I was initially contacted, via email, by Jon, Senior Consultant on 7/2/2010 stating: I have reviewed the profile you submitted through our recruiting site and would like to schedule a time to speak with you. I found out later that they scan the job boards for newly posted resumes to find potential victims and that I never submitted my resume to their site. In correspondence which I received later Jon title was printed as Managing Director. convinced me that his service could raise me to the next level in finding the right job, that being executive level. I was shown JETs process for developing executive marketing plans and told that, as an individual, I could only reach 10% of the job market but, with their plan, could reach 96% of the market. Further, and on numerous occasions, indicated that JET's $35MM computing system was world-class, that it substantially set JET apart from competition, and; that I would see how MAC can connect you to 40 times more published openings... and get you considered for unpublished jobs as well. I was reminded by Jon on numerous occasions of JET's money back guarantee. Evidently this does not carry much weight when a cancellation take place. They sent me a link to what they called their national center video. They said that this short briefing will better acquaint me with their firm and the state-of-the-art job search resources they make available to professionals and executives. In addition, I was told that once I became a client, a specialist would work with me to develop a marketing plan specific to my skills, experience level and industry preferences. That person turned out to be a lady named Ann. I found out through discussions that she had a major in filmmaking which certainly has nothing to do with writing resumes. Jon further represented that I was very marketable, and that with JET's assistance I could expect to receive approximately 8 to 10 interviews a week and 3 - 5 job offers at an executive level. Finally, I was chosen to become a JET client. I was then told that they have some limited time scheduling incentives that are financially significant...if I could be flexible and work with their available scheduling dates, that I would receive a significant discount (The initial price was $6,500). They sent me a credit card transaction form in a portable document format (PDF). Told me to print it out, fill it in completely, sign it and fax it with your completed and signed proposal letter. Alternatively, you may scan and email it to. This will secure the date and location for your creative presentation. Your entire team at JET looks forward to working with you. The last sentence was a red flag that I missed because they called the company JET. Finally, they sent a PDF of their service agreement and proposal for implementing a personal marketing plan for me. However, he sent a PDF marked. Later the same day I received. So they are operating under different company names to bilk consumers. It all turned out to be boiler-plate! I signed the agreement and sent it back to them giving them authorization to withdraw $5,500 from my checking account. I was provided, via email, from Kay Client Services Coordinator. On 7/13/2010, I received a couple of other email Forms. I received a thanks email. I filled out all their forms online and continued to receive emails, with attachments from Sten President, Client Services. 7/14/2010 - Into Action - All of the attachments were call Action and very generic and boilerplate. They have the art of effective presentation down to a science because everything does seem legit I continued to update my profile online in their documents and have several discussions via the phone with Ann: my information. When all was completed, she set our first online meeting, in the following email, to go over the information she had created. Hows 1:30 Central Time for our tomorrow? I will present your creative materials, well explore the MAC, discuss strategies and your action plan and talk about interviewing. Work for you? Best, Ann All the materials turned out to be materials and letters that are boilerplate, standardized documents. The marketing plan is merely a computer generated regurgitation of the information I submitted. The presentation did include a 1-page document she called a Resume. I worked on it over the next couple of days and received emails from Ann like: Hope you like what you seea Star on Paper! and ....here's to a great campaign! While working with her on the resume, I had gotten into numerous areas of contention with her, primarily centered on gross misrepresentation of the services effectiveness and the fact that she was not including very important details about my career in the. The 1 page Resume created for me was so generic that it fit almost everyone that worked in my profession. On 7/21/2010, after realizing that I had been scammed and that I was not going to get anywhere with their service because Ann did not have the skills necessary to create an effective resume. I sent an email: Ann; Please stop all campaign work that you are doing and/or have planned. I, after working with you to try and finalize a "resume", am very disappointed in the services. Your version of this doc makes me look like a beginner/novice in Business Analysis. That said, I have no competative edge when competing for BA positions when posted on job boards. At this point I see very little value in using JET services in that using your capabilities will take an extreme amount of time to read all the company "happenings" and/or respond. Those capabilities I see are very much needed for C-level personnel, not Business Analyst and I will not use it. There is very little, if any, OI using that process. Using JET services leaves me with my resume only being posted to several job boards. Using your 1 page version of my resume will do very little to get responses from anyone. It is VERY generic and in my view says very little about Business Analysis. If I were hiring for a BA position I would not even consider that resume! I am not arguing with the length, I am very concerned with the lack of content re: Business Analysis. Like I told you on the phone, I get the feeling that your experience is in writing C-level type resumes that are very high level in presentation. I feel that you cannot present a Business Analyst in that fashion. Take a look a several job descriptions for BA's, specifically the bullet points. That is what people search for when trying to find applicants! Bottom line is that after seeing and experiencing JET services to-date I do not have a very good feeling that your company can help me. Please consider this as cancellation of your services and refund any monies that I might have left after deducting for your services to-date. I am sorry but working with you has been a very frustrating event for me in that I know what my experiences have been over the past 10+ years posting my resume to job boards. I feel strongly that your version of my resume will produce nothing. The JET website is merely a portal for requesting information and for accessing other public job domain websites. The is non-effective, as the only sites scanned are other jobsites (Monster, CareerMag, 6FigureJobs, etc.) No source companies are included in this super-search capability. Their emerging market activity is merely a headline scan of selected industries, not a very good tool to assist in seeking employment opportunities. JET has underperformed on their service and continues to misrepresent the capability of such service. I asked Ann during our phone conversations what her major was in college and she replied Filmmaking. As best I can tell they use very polished boilerplate information to present their services and cannot deliver on any of them as they do not have the expertise. This is a TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION (Scam) of services and should be stopped.
