Jewelry Gate, David Herskovitz Sells Junk Industrial-grade diamond earrings; phony return fees New York New York
Jewelry Gate has pictures of beautiful, clear, brilliant diamond earrings, but the diamonds they actually send contain Industrial-grade "junk" diamonds, full of chips, cracks, and hundreds of black inclusions. Their written description states the diamonds many have a "few" visable inclusions, which is a joke. The stones actually contain a blizzard of ungly, black, carbon particles. These stones are not jewelry-grade; they are useful only to grind up as a powder for polishing and grinding for industrial applications. Also, the underside of these "diamonds" are dull, cloudy, and unpolished. The gold mountings are full of corrosion and pitting. This company has a "policy" of charging a "10% re-stocking fee," as well as a non-refundable shipping charge of $19.95. They mailed me the earrings in a 2 X 3 inch padded envelope that weighed less than one-ounce, which in no way cost $19.95 for postage. This almost-$40.00 in non-refundable extra charges is Jewelry Gate's way of sending you junk and discouraging you from returning it to them, due to the excessive charges incurred in sending this junk back to them.
