Complaint Review: Jhnae Contracting

Richard Visk and Shonna Jackson have made a business of taking deposits from consumers to do work on their homes and disappearing with their money. They hide under the business name of Jhnae Contracting, and sometimes J'hnae Contracting and Cleaning Company. They operate out of Monroeville PA (and possibly Pittsburgh, New Kensington, and other surrounding areas)

About 2 months ago my husband and I started looking for a contractor to install a fence in our backyard at our home in Monroeville. My husband met Richard Visk ay Crunch Fitness in Monroeville PA about 1 month ago. Richard told him he is a contractor, so my husband had him come to our home and give us an estimate. He said if we wanted him to do the work he would need 50% down for materials.

At that time we gave him $725. But when he came to start putting the posts in the ground we told him that he was making the fenced in area much smaller than we agreed on. He said we must have misunderstood him and if we wanted it bigger we'd have to give him another $190. So we did.

Rich Visk never came back to install the fencing panels on the posts. The games started after he got our money. First, he texted us and said that he purchased the fencing panels. But then a few days later he said Home Depot didn't have them in stock and that he would need more money to purchase the more expensive panels they had in stock. My husband then confronted him about saying he already purchased the panels, and Rich lied and claimed he didn't say that when he's the one who texted it! He continued to give us the run-around for several more days.

At this point we realized we were definitely being scammed and asked for our money back. Rich Visk first said verbally and in text messages that he would give us a refund, but then he and Shonna Jackson flatly refused, claiming that we broke a contract, when in fact we never signed or even seen a contract from them.

Richard Visk has a long criminal, prison, and contrating theft history. Rich Visk and Shonna Jackson regularly posts ads in local newspapers for contracting gigs. I called Trib Media to report that they use their newspaper to rob people, and the editor said they couldn't keep up with Richard Visk because he keeps finding people to create a fake business for him to hide under.

Richard Visk has been in prison and was recently charged with theft in Monroeville.

Richard Visk will often claim he's a Christian and a deacon in his church to appear to be more trusting.

Please help get the word out about Richard Visk, Shonna Jackson and their fake company Jhnae Contracting so no one else gets scammed.
