In Early February, 2002 I took my 1999 Izusu Rodeo to the JIFFYLUBE located on Automobile Blvd, Briggschaney area of Silver Spring. I drove the Rodeo to JiffyLube and while waiting for them to complete service I was informed that there was a hole in my engine block.

JiffyLube employees immediately begain to explaint why it wasn't their fault that a SUV that I drove to their location could not be driven away and now had a piston through their engine block.

I request insurance information from the manager of the store who refused and said he didn't have that information. I immediately emailed JiffyLube Corporate who, in their infinite indifference, forwarded the email to the Owner of the store. He promptly became rude explainint that I have no idea what I was talking about and that they could not possibly have caused the hole in my engine block.

Again, I drove the truck in.

I had the vehicle towed to the Izusu dealer in the same autopark who promptly reviewed the vehicle which was still under manufacturers warranty. Over the next month, they rejected the Warranty claim because JIFFYLUBE DESTROYED MY ENGINE.

The Warranty Company, to add insult to injury refuses to provide to me a copy of their report which they read to me stating that the vehicle engine was damaged as a result of water getting inside it, causing a vapor lock when the engine was started without oil.

A new engine will cost approximately $10,000 with installation. I have paid insurance now for three months on a car that is at an Izusu dealer incapable of being driven. I went through this winter's storms without a SUV purchased for this implicit purpose. Causing me to rent cars for weeks at a time. I also have issues with the DMV who required that the vehicle provide proof of inspection within 30 days. JIFFY LUBE has cost me several thousand dollars as a result of this.

And because of the nature of this corporate identity, I cannot determine whom to sue.

I would like some more basic details on this, before I believe that JIFFY-LUBE is at fault. How did they cause your engine to throw a ROD while it was at their shop.

Or to get a hole from the WATER-JACKET into the OIL GALLERIES. FOr a engine to throw a rod, you would need to drive it a little bit. I am more inclined to believe you were LOW on oil for quite a while before going to JIFFY-LUBE & this caused the damage. So please give us more details if you want us to believe you & such.

Your situation could be a lawyers dream case. You have two deep pockets that are pointing the finger at each other. A good lawyer will simply file suit against BOTH parties and lt them fight it out in court. Either one will clearly win and the other will pay or there will be a split decision and BOTH will pay. Don't waste any more time, turn a lawyer loose on these snakes now.
