I went to get a simple oil change. I waited for about a half hour before they got to my car. Then, they brought me onto the working station and went through their recommended services.

They showed me residues from various parts of my engine and told me that I needed a radiator flush, a general engine clean, radiator top-off, and fuel injector cleaner. The employee was nice, but very much pressuring me to get all of the above mentioned services.

When I asked him, "Do you think it is necessary for me to get all of that done?" He answered, "I can't tell you that. I can just tell you what we recommend."

Then, I asked him, "Will my car blow up if I don't have it done today, but wait until my next oil change?" (I drive a 93 civic in nice condition). He said, "I can't tell you if it will blow up or not. I can just tell you what we recommend."

Then, he took me over to my car to show me the chips in the windshield. I've known about the chips for a long time and basically am just waiting to have my windshield replaced (insurance will cover) at the end of winter. He points out the chips and explains to me how they will create huge cracks in my windshield and that it won't cost me anything to have them repaired with insurance.

I then explained to him that two of the three knicks have been repaired and that I am just going to get a new windshield. He smirked and said, "that's going to cost you a lot of money."

Catching on to the fact that the Jiffy Lube employee is trying to add on sales to my original desire for an oil change, I asked him, "So, is this a new service that you have, repairing windshields?" And he answered simply, "Yes, it is."

I got my oil change and withstood the high pressure sales pitch. Afterwards, as I was pulling out of the bay, I noticed the guy next to me getting his car cleaned. I was impressed- there were two employees hand-drying this guys car and they even brought out the glass cleaner. I pulled up right next to them and asked if the carwash was included in the oil change. The employee answered me "yes."

I went to go get the car wash. No pre-cleaning of my wheels or anything. When I got through the carwash, I pulled up just next to the other customer whose car was still being hand-dryed. The employee asked motioned to me to roll down my window. He told me, "you're done," and motioned me to get on my way.

Unbelievable! I won't go there again. They made me feel stupid and were not advocates for me. They also gave preferential treatment to this other customer.. who wasn't driving anything special. Weird. I won't be going back there again.
