On July 16 / 2008, I stopped in a hurry at the Jiffy Lube at Delk Road in Marietta GA (Exit 261 from I-75)
As I watched, the incompetent and obviously untrained operator, broke the lugs of my hubcaps one after another. She didn't break them ALL because I went into the bay and stopped her.When I complained, I was told that I would have to file some paperwork that they didn't have on hand.
After they dutifully collected $58.78 (which is WAYYY more than Midas and didn't even topped the fluids), I was told to comeback later. When I told "them" (listen good: "THEM", because I could never identify the manager, neither him/her identified him/herself) that I wanted my 4 hubcaps matching or I would complaint to the BBB, they ganged together aggressively against me because "I was threating them".
I drove away with my broken car, my empty wallet (and fluids because they didn't top them off as advertised) and no paperwork. I called several hours later and I was told that "the manager forgot to pickup the paperwork and to call again".
By then, I dialed 1(800)345-8237 and talked to some guy Mike in charge of some SW area.
I explained him the situation and after some frustrating talking he insisted that I drove to a dealer, got the car repaired and send them an invoice, but they would ONLY pay for 3 hubcaps even if I didn't find matching ones.
When explained him that I don't have time to BS around dealers and that I went to Jiffy Lube to save myself that grief to begin with, his words were:
BUT WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL!!!!
Great customer service...
I explained him that I would not go back to that Jiffy Lube without some kind of escort because they had ganged together aggressively against me, and he gave a number (919)828-0514 to talk to some area supervisor by the name Latosha (may be misspelled). She was sort-of-cooperative and asked me to call her when I was ready to go back.
I told her to call ME back the following week.
The call never came.
And neither it came the following week
My calls went unanswered because (I think this guy Mike told me) she had some sort of family issue.
By the end of the second week I requested a police escort and went to the shop to pick up my paperwork.
At some point in between, I could not reach Mike either and I called his supervisor Ryan, at 1(800)216-2553 x 300 and explained him that I wanted Jiffy Lube to fix my car and hand me back an unbroken car.
His answer?
Another loud "WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL !!!"
My conclusion?
If Jiffy Lube breaks your car is not a big deal.
If Jiffy Lube doesn't finish the job as advertised it is not a big deal either.
I have been treated by this people like if *I* was responsible for breaking the hubcaps, and my complaint to the BB went unanswered.
Never mind any sort of compensation for my WASTED time , the incomplete service and the unprofessional and incompetent performance of their employees
