Anywhere you go, any company you visit...
Will always try to upsell you, your wife made the decision in getting scammed because she doesn't know if the wipers work! Ha ha. Come on now man, did she really not know if they were good or not? Maybe you should teach her how to use the wipers and give her the 101 on wiper replacement. I'm sorry, but if the consumer isn't on their toes... then it's going to happen.
Your wife could have simply walked over to the bay area and squirt some fluid to check the wipers.
Now, if the technician (if you can even call them that) pulled off the wipers and replaced them without permission and demanded payment. Then yes, you'd have a valid arguement. Consider yourself lucky man, think of all the other things they could have tacked on to your wife's bill! Like... new car door handles, new floor mats, new air scent freshener, new radio antenna! You'd be in real trouble! Ha ha!
Lesson of this story, don't trust wives around motor vehicles, especially when it comes to maintenance.
