Jillian Michaels online misleading marketing practices and no authorized automatic renewal Los Angeles, California
After responding to a "free" book on metabolism ad that was in the Sunday supplement ($4.95 S&H) I was later charged what was eventually $104.00 for absolutely nothing! The "free"book offer gives them access to your card info and they start charging right away.
The charges were in two installments of $52.00 every 3 months. I missed it on the first billing and caught it the second time. Meanwhile I had no idea what it was for. When I called to find out what was going on they told me what they offered online and I was welcome to log in and use it. I told them that I am 75 years old and arthritic and Jillian Michaels is not for me. Please just refund my money since I never used the services and didn't intend to. I was told that they "can"t" refund the money because I had agreed to something and had 2 weeks to cancel and I didn't cancel in time. All they could do is stop the automatic billing at this "late date". SAY WHAT!!
This a bogus dirty business. When they have to rip-off an old woman living on social security that is a new low. They should be fined and shut down. If I hadn't caught it when I did they would still be charging me for absolutely nothing. How can they get away with this?
When you call them at customer service they just spew out their memorized "mantra" they just can't do anything about it since you never cancelled in the two weeks whether you knew anything about it or not. They know that you knew!! I tried to get some help from my card company ( BOA) but they were no help but that's another story.

Just an up-date. After finally filing with the BBB Jillian Michels on-line did credit my money
back. I am convinced that without taking action through them and rip-off I never would've gotten it.
