This family with a lifelong career of defrauding the unsuspecting homeowner is at it again, Tom Gill (Jim Gillingham) and his wife Sharron and their beloved doped up son Jeff, now residing likely very temporarily at 59 Browns Line in Havelock. They throw religion around around in their sales pitches hoping to gain your trust, this is the bait, and professing to be folks of good will. Jim claims that he has been so successful in the contruction business that he doesn't have to work, he does this at cost, to help people. The homeowner complies to his ridiculous payment schedule, he assures you that there is only a week or two left on the job. Now ask him for a tally of costs to date; he gets hostile, doesn't return to the jobsite (rarely shows up anyway for more than a few minutes), sends in a crew to do the demolishien work. Get the picture? Now your home looks like Jurascic Park. He very impersonally flips you an email with a long list of extra costs that need to be paid before he can continue the work.

We are left with a disaster site, he walked away with 50K, someone has to stop this fraudulent man and his well trained and loyal family. His name Jim Gillingham is all over fraud sites. We would have never found any of this as I did a check on Tom Gill, never found his business anywhere either, until today.

Beware of this man and his "New" project Manager Darwin.

We were also a victim of James T Gillingham. In 2003 He stole $44,000 from us and left my home unlivable. Not only that we were responsible for $12,191.20 for lumber he had delivered from Nassau Suffolk Lumber to our home but did'nt pay for.  We also had leins from the roofing company for over $2,000. So our tally of loss totaled about $60.000. Not even to metion what we had to pay to have someone fix the damage he did to our home. We had 3 kids under three years old at the time and he left are home unlivable in the middle of winter.  Will never recoup from the financial mess he left us in. We were just one of many families from Long Island he ripped off.  I was also told he was being extradited back to New York. He belongs in jail and shame on Canada for not extraditing him back here to face his crimes. I am not surprised he is doing there now. He and his  family should be in prison. Any lawyer that represents him should learn to google before trying to say he is not a criminal. I truly hope to see them in jail someday. It is where they belong.

You should check your client, James Gillingham's, background.  Just contact the DA in Suffolk County, New York.  Your client is a dirt bag that preys on unsuspecting individuals.  He ripped me off for $25,000 and created havoc among others whose homes had been opened up by shoddy work and work never completed.  I consider myself one of the lucky ones, I was a new construction.  He took my downpayment, did nothing, and demanded more money, which of course he did not receive.  Then he ran to Canada within the next day or two.

Do you actually believe that someone just does not want to pay to have construction completed on their homes?   i was one of the first to file a rip-off report for him and JTG Construction LLC and his daughter's company, Dial A Husband.  They are a family of rip off artists and it I would just love to see Jim in a US prison with a cellmate named "Bubba".

I , for one, would never hire you as a lawyer. The run on sentences made my eyes bleed. I should sue you for giving me a headache!!! I love how you threaten and the random use of the capital c inserted into your spew of nonsense.

Good luck to you. If your writing skills are anything like the way you practice law, we all need help. For you to  be a lawyer you would have read the ToS here before you responded. OPPS!!! Looks like someone didn't read the ToS.

Go back to school. Do not use run on sentences. Be consistant when using capital letters for "names". A "good" lawyer would never put all the cards out there like you did. I sure hope you don't play poker!!! A "good" lawyer would not "threaten" as you did. But it seems lost on you.

I am Licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada and represent Mr. Gillingham and have been retained to file a Claim against the party involved with filing this report which my Client claims is completely false and was done simply to avoid paying the balance of money owed to my Client and in an attempt to slander my Client and negatively interfere with his business.

It seems to be simple on this website to make any complaint that a person wants without proof or details and without even leaving your name or contact information. It then appears that everyone simply follows suit and does the same rather than take the normal steps one would expect which would be to file a Claim in Court or mediate in order to solve the problem, if one does actually exist.

I wonder if anyone on this website actually has a legitimate complaint or is actually aware that they can end up in court with a Claim against them for Libel.

Firstly, this matter will be before the Courts as soon as a Claim can be prepared and filed and the same applies to anyone who makes a false complaint against my Client or his Company. I am presently looking into doing the same with the Owners of this website who do not seem to care if any of the information herein is actually true and I would suggest they remove this complaint promptly.

1. In the case of this specific complaint the Contract is specifically between the Company known as Trent Total Home Improvements which  is a Proprietorship owner by James Thomas Gillingham and the Complainant. There is no one else involved with this contract nor does it involve "Gill Construction" or "Jim Gillingham" or "Tom Gill" or JTG construction" or Sharron Gillingham" or "Jef".

2. The mention of other companies or family members appear to my Client to simply be an attempt to defame his entire family without reason other than to negatively affect any attempt to conduct a legitimate business or to embarrass his wife and son.

3. A reference is made to my Client's address as likely being very temporary implying without evidence that he may move which I am sure anyone has a right to do if they wish. We will see what evidence on that is presented in Court by the complainant.

4. I do believe that freedom of religion is a right that we enjoy in Canada although the complainant seems to disagree with anyone being verbal about it.

5. My Client is a Contractor and hires legitimate sub-trades where needed and experienced subcontractors where licensing is not needed and he is not a laborer and cannot be present on every jobsite at all times and naturally relies on his trades to report the progress of each Contract.

6. Mr. Gillingham has provided a contract signed by the complainant which sets out completion draws as normal for the construction business and claims the payments were made and the work was satisfactory to the complainent up to the final draw when requested.

7. I understand the complainant requested additional work as justified by the invoices provided to me which show proper deduction of allowances provided to the complainent by Mr. Gillingham and I understand when this final invoice was presented to the complainant Mr. Gillingham was asked to not return to the job. Since the complainant terminated a contract rather than paid the amount owed they can deal with that in court. If there was any problems at that time one would think it simpler to mediate and settle the matter rather than end up in court.

It is extremely important when filing a complaint that one considers the truth of their comments and gives the full details and does not attempt to defame the party or in this case his family with unfounded comments. The courts are available for settlement of any issues should the complainants actually have one. In this case a Claim will be filed against the complainant by Mr. Gillingham for payment of the balance of his contract and extras as well as for damages for libel and his wife and son may do so as well for libel.
