It was a very hot day in July in Central Florida and my air conditioning stopped working. I found Jimmys A/C on the internet, I called Jimmy and he said he would be there that day. I thought WOW, he seemed like a nice guy and told me he would be out asap.

Jimmy arrives later that afternoon and tells ne that there is a leak in my compressor. He tells me that he can braise the copper piping and it would be an easy fix. So I agreed to let him proceed. It took him about an hour to "fix" the problem. He hands me the bill and it says $745!!!!!! $745? Seriously? He was there for an hour, bought no new parts and charges me $745. I ask him, why the ridiculous cost? He then informs me, $150 for labor, and $40 per lb of freon. Unit needed 13 lbs of freon. I then google freon, and the cost to a licensed ac tech is $6 per lb. 600% markup WOW. PLus $150 for one hour of labor. I gotta get into the a/c business. Long story short I reluctantly paid the bill.

5 days later, a/c stops working again. So I call Jimmy back to the house to inspect the a/c unit. He now tells me there is another leak right next to the repaired piece of copper that he supposably fixed. He tells me it will cost another $500 to fix this leak, he tells me its a new problem, so a new bill.

I then decided to call a larger air conditioning company to come give me a second opinion. They tell me that the braising that jimmy did was very shotty work. Then they tell me that the part should be covered by lennox. jimmy could have replaced the entire part, but never gave me that option. So the new a/c company that i hired replaces the part, and my total bill for 2 hours of labor and 13 lbs of freon is $500.

So, long story short. If I would have hired a reputable a/c company in the first place, I would have saved the $745 that I have thrown away to Jimmys A/C. I think what bothers me the most is he did not warranty his work. If he would have come back out and fixed the second leak, which he should have found in the first place. I would not be so upset.

Yes he overcharged me thefirst time, but to charge me 5 days later for the same problem that he supposably fixed is just crazy.

Dont hire this guy, he will rip you off, and he does not stand behind his work.
