Chan Cheuk Fai, the head instructor at Jin Wu Koon, nearly killed me back in 2005. He got me to help move a mirror at the old gym in Chinatown, when all of a sudden he pushed the back of it too hard, shattering it whilst a piece of glass ripped my left ear and got lodged in my neck, leaving me scarred and permanently disfigured. I ended up having a 4.5 hour operation in the emergency department (during which my mother waited outside in tears) whilst Cheuk Fai flew to New Zealand to corner a K1 fighter. He has not called me to apologise (I needed to call him), nor was I reimbursed in anyway for his negligence. He has has basically avoides me with contempt, and refuses to acknowledge what he did. I am lucky to be alive. He might be a good martial artist, but his moral compass is non-existent. If you choose to train with him, just be cognizant that Cheuk Fai's gym is not insured and if anything happens to you, he will bully and coerce his way out of responsibility.
