There was an ad in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that said "$250-500 a week, will train to work at home helping the US government file HUD/FHA mortgage refunds. No experience necessary, 866-537-2907." I'm a single mother and currently an unemployed teacher so I called and was told that I would be trained to learn how to file HUD mortgage refunds from home for people who received mortgages through FHA or HUD. I was under the impression from the ad that this company was affiliated with the US government so I agreed to pay the one time fee of $69.oo to receive the software I would need to do this job.

After the call I went online to the website (Now I know that I should have done this first) and I found out that this company trains people to be third party tracers of which FHA warns consumers to be careful of because they typically are con-artists. I called the company back within twenty-four hours and spoke with the supervisor of costomer service who told me that I would have to put a stop check on the check number I gave the previous day for the $69.00 if I wanted to be rejected for the job.

I said that it would cost me $30.00 to do that and that I wanted my money back. She said that I was given a detailed description of the job (which I was not)and I paid to have them send me an email with a registration number and that since they sent that email even though I did not download the software or receive the package in the mail that I could not get me money back just because I suddenly changed my mind.

I said that I was not told that my money would be non-refundable and she responded be saying, "You did not ask." How ridiculous is that! I then told her that I was going to file a formal complaint with the Fair Business Association (of which they're a member) and she said, "I'll make a note of it"

So I was forced to pay the $27.00 stop check fee so that they would not get my money. I only lost $27.00 but to a struggling single mother that is grocery money.

Don't be scammed by JMW Financial Services!!!
