My fiance in Hawaii contacted and hired Mr. Potenzone representing JNJ Remodeling, Inc. in Honolulu, Hawaii to conduct the renovation of her condominium.  During the beginning process, he was considerate, willing to work with her and represented his company as one that guarantees satisfaction, high quality of standards, workmanship and customer satisfaction along with openness of communication.


She believed what he said and hired him to do the job. He guaranteed his work, to her, for one year.  The job turned out to be totally substandard and he refuses to answer any emails, certified letters, telephone calls or other means we've used to contact him to correct the deficiencies he made. She had asked him if it was okay that she and her fiance (me) would check out the work when I arrived the week after he completed his work and she paid him for the job and he agreed to that.  Since then, he has not returned calls, refuses to return to correct the things he did incorrectly or work with us whatsoever.


Her kitchen cabinets were installed crookedly; the grout that he used to install the tile in the bathroom began to crumble within 2 weeks of completion of the job; the majority of the vinyl baseboards he installed throughout began to peel and fall off the walls within 2 weeks; he ruined a large screen by spilling white paint on it and failed to tell her - the screen had to be replaced; the plumbing he did under her new bathroom vanity began to leak within 2 weaks and we had to have a professional plumber, at our expense, stop the leakage.


Just the other day, he drove up to my fiance on the street (after our attempts to contact him for 3 months) and told her he was upset that we had reported him to the Better Business Bureau in Hawaii and that "I" was responsible for getting him mad because I asked him to return, along with my fiance, and correct all these problems.  At all times we have been polite but he initmitated my fiance by approaching her like that and we are also turning him to the Hawaii Consumer Protection Agency, the arm of the Attorney General's office in Hawaii that is responsible for adjudication of fraud and bad business practices.  Apparently, we have been informed, as a handyman, he is only allowed to do jobs to a certain dollar amount and he exceeded the law with what he charged her. He appears mad and upset because we simply requested him to come back and fix what he did wrong and incorrectly.


We highly suggest you do not use this company or individual as he does not back up his claims of customer satisfaction, high quality service, workmanship, product or openness of communiciation.  He takes your money and disappears. His lack of respect to the Hawaiian people is obvious as he realizes they don't push to have things done right as he claims "we" East Coast people do.


If you use this man or his company (which his website makes appear largere than it really is) BEWARE that, if he does things wrong and you are not satisfied, he will not work with you, once he has his money, to fix anything or communicate with you.

     At this time, I would like to alert readers of this report that the above situation between my fiance in Honolulu with Mr. Lorenzo Potenzone /dba/ JNJ, Remodeling, Inc., has been settled in an amicable agreement between them and, because of the fact that it has been amicably settled, this should be made available and understandable to anyone reading this report.
