Complaint Review: Joe Chisholm

Joe Chisholm has been running a front for puppy mills for years, as a broker. I bought a puppy there many years ago, and a few years later I visited the place where my puppy was born based on teh AKC registration I received with the puppy. It was a puppymill for Golden Retrievers. Older dogs were living outside and debarked because they did not want them causing noise in the neighborhood. The dogs were skinny and had horrible coats.

We paid him to house train the dog and left the pup at Joe's for a week, we paid him for training sessions that never happened, he was impossible to get a hold of after he cashed the check. So the train/housebreak services below are bogus.

Joe always seems to have puppies from more than one litter at a time. He wasn't breeding them himself when I bought from him - but he could be now.

He advertises in classified sections of newspapers. The ad almost always reads identical and usually runs continuously...

He was in Pleasant Hill and still could be. Both parents are never OFA certified, one might be once in a while.

This guy has to be making the bucks since he advertises continuously in multiple newspapers. Interesting that I could not find his ad in any of the major newspaper sections anymroe where he used to advertise. However, I did a google search for his phone number and his ads in Santa Barbara News-Press, Reno Gazette-Journal, Tahoe Bonanza paper, Mendocino paper, Metro Silicon Valley, Monterey Herald, East Bay Express. He is not reputable, if her were he wouldn't have to advertise this much.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM THIS MAN AS YOU WILL UNKNOWINGLY BE SUPPORTING PUPPYMILL BREEDING.
